FM Pilot Script: Part One

Pilot Script Part One (newest draft as of 5/8/21)

LEE: I won't lie though, I'm kinda gonna miss Idris.

DEX: He only came around once when Holt introduced him to his crew.

LEE: Yeah but he totally slammed Bakes! And I will ALWAYS like whoever slams Bakes down.

DEX: You're petty.

LEE: (grins) Guilty.

Lee takes off her goggles as she grabs her hat. She puts the hat on backwards and sets her goggles on the table. Her and Dex look back at the machine.

LEE: I finished fixing the bugs.

DEX: Great, proper air conditioning, here we come.

LEE: Hell yeah.

Dex and Lee fist bump. Dex goes over to his desk and sets the papers he was holding on it, sitting down in front of his computer.

DEX: Did you manage to get Kayne her stuff in time?

MAXINE: (O.S) I would say so, considering the fact that Lee is still intact.

Dex looks up and Lee turns around as Maxine walks into the lab with her arms crossed, smiling.

DEX: (hopeful) You and Hayes finished?

MAXINE: I know what you're looking for, but we really don't have much.

DEX: But you have something, right?

MAXINE: Yes... but I don't think it will make you feel better.

Dex debates asking, but just nods.

DEX: Alright.

MAXINE: I'm sorry Dex.

DEX: Don't be. I understand.

Lee looks from Maxine to Dex, confused. Maxine catches on.

MAXINE: Markovetz is still missing and Dex is worried.

LEE: Oh dude, Markovetz is fine. He's a kick-ass agent who can take care of himself. When he gets back you guys and goes right back to talking about codes or whatever the hell you two talk about.

DEX: (getting more upset) But it's not that simple! (takes a breath to calm down) Noah's my friend, it's not easy to just stop worrying about him. What if he's hurt or captured or worse?

LEE: You can scratch worse off that list right now. He's fine, stop worrying. (more sympathetic) Seriously dude. I know you can't completely stop worrying about him, but if you let that take over your life it's not going to help anyone. The best you can do is hope he's alright and trust that Hayes will get him back.

Dex fidgets with his hands, thinking. Lee is giving him a harsh sympathetic look, waiting for an answer. Eventually, Dex nods.

DEX: Yeah... alright.

LEE: (smiles) Great.

Pause. Maxine looks confused and amused at the same time.
