FM Pilot Script: Part One

Pilot Script Part One (newest draft as of 5/8/21)

CUT TO:

INT. DEX AND LEE'S LAB - CONTINUOUS

Holt and Raska appear in the doorway of the lab and knock on the side of the wall. Lee looks up, spots them, and groans. She pushes her goggles up on her head and sets her hand holding the pen down.

LEE: What do you two want?

HOLT: Nothing. We're just looking for something to break.

LEE: Unless it's breaking your boyfriend's heart again, I wouldn't do whatever you're thinking about doing. I can guarantee that half the stuff in here would kill you before you got a chance to do anything to them so I would highly recommend that you talk you sorry ass out of this lab before I start getting experimental. (annoyed threat) I'm assuming Bakes showed what happened the last time he tries to break something in here, yeah? Want me to repeat the process? Because that machine right there will do the job in less than a minute.

Lee points to the machine in the back corner of her side of the lab. Holt and Raska's mouths are open. Holt looks absolutely flustered and angry, Raska is kinda trying to hold laughter back.

HOLT: You-

LEE: (cut in) Nuh uh, you know you can't beat me in any kind of verbal battle. Do your ego a favor and get the hell outta here.

Holt attempts to protest, but Raska shakes his head and pulls him out of the lab.

LEE: (shaking her head) Pricks.

CUT TO:

INT. TECH LEVEL OF THE V.I.U. - CONTINUOUS

Dex is walking down the stairs and pauses as Holt and Raska run up the stairs.

HOLT: How'd she even know that we broke up?

RASKA: Everyone knows by now, you knew that, right?

HOLT: What do you mean everyone?

Dex watches the two disappear over the steps and shakes his head as he smiles and goes down the stairs.

CUT TO:

INT. DEX AND LEE'S LAB - CONTINUOUS

Dex enters the lab. Lee is carefully welding the small device she was working on earlier to a machine in the back of the room, holding a wrench in her mouth.

DEX: Trouble?

Lee shakes her head as she finishes welding the piece to the machine. She takes the wrench out of her mouth and starts tightening one of the bolts on the side of the machine.

LEE: Never got to it. Holt thought it would be a great idea to announce his plan right in the doorway.

DEX: Oh, rookie mistake.

LEE: Yup. Brought up his ex and he was gone.

DEX: So I heard. Passed him on my way down.

Lee knocks on the metal she had just attached to the machine. Satisfied, Lee pushes her goggles up on her head and tosses her wrench onto her desk as she walks over to Dex.
