Chapter 1 - Song of Illusions

Just as the princess finished her song, everyone burst out laughing. Rehabilitating a sinner? What a joke, yet you were drawn to the whole project. You got the feeling some strange force was pulling you forcefully into this no hope project. The idea to leave this hell of a place was too alluring.

Without any warning, you were suddenly pulled back from your thoughts and new TV moderators were seen on the screen, as an unpleasant warm surprise has overcome the previous two.

"Due to some disputes..., will we be taken on the News 666 for the time being" spoke a cat-like demon sitting next to a dog demon. What a fun sight it was, you could clearly feel their discomfort through the monitors.

"Just as always, have we gotten ahold of some hilarious information on our national clown of hell."

"You mean the wingless bird?" asked the dog in return while discretely trying to hold back a laughter, just as the people standing right next to you.

"You bet! She tried to prevent some couple from having a really lovey-dovey time together" replied the cat not being able to hold his laughter anymore and throwing his index cards away full of ecstasy.

"Lovey-dovey time? She had a goddamn terrified look on her face, he was fucking about to rape her" you whispered in front of you. You could not stand this twisted media anymore and as soon as you were about to turn around and leave this cursed place, you felt a source of heat coming closer from behind you.
Suddenly you could hear a man say in a playful tone.

"Hey Babe, isn't that chick a lunatic? What is even the purpose of her actions? If it'd be me, I'd just pin her to the wall and rape the shit out of her!" just as he was about to put his filthy arm around your waist, in just a blink of a moment were you holding him up in the air with your arm.

"Say it again, Vermin" you declared in a threatening voice, your claws sinking little by little into his rotten skin.

"Woah Woah doll, no need to get so aggressive!" uttered the horse-shaped demon, seemingly having regrets in his recently stated comment and the turmoil he caused.

"No need to get aggressive? You don't fucking say? Do you think raping someone is something to be so proud of?" If anyone would have paid more attention to your voice, just a little bit, then they could have sworn that your voice was quite shaky, as if you were about to break down on the floor and cry any moment. You could not stand these types of scums, who live off of others' pain and suffering just for their own amusement.

"Dolly *cough* can.. you...me.... down?" said the demon, visibly having no air left to breathe, but whose request you ignored and only started to choke even harder until something or someone put their hand on your shoulder. It happened so fast that you had no time to react and push the hand of the stranger away. You could only feel some threatening aura emanating from behind yourself.

"Would you be so generous and let this peasant off of your claws? There is no need to dirty oneself with such filthy blood."

You immediately threw the guy you were holding forcefully to the side and refused to turn yourself around and look into the eyes of that monster. Your hand starting to tremble even more full of anger and disgust.

"You won't even turn around and face your old friend? Birdy, do you have no manners? You should know that you greet people back when they speak to you" the hand on your shoulder tightened, slowly drilling holes into your skin and cloak you had on for the whole time.

"What am I supposed to say? We are not and will never be friends" you proclaimed with a monotonous voice as you turned around and looked the radio demon into his bloodshot red eyes.
All you could see was his smile growing bigger and bigger, which on the other hand made you fill up with mixed emotions of threat, aversion, and pity.
