High School Life - Dreamcatcher (Short Story - English)

Chapter 02

"I'm home" Handong said as she enter the house

"oh sweetheart welcome home" Handong's mom said as she hug her daughter

"wait, why your clothes so wet?" her mom rubbing her clothes

"nothing"

"are you sure? Your clothes wet almost everyday" her mom started feel weird

"yea why should I lie?" Handong show a weak smile

Her mom raise her eyebrows. She feel like her daughter hiding something from her

"I will go take a shower and study"

"don't you want to eat first?

"I'm not hungry, thank you mom" Handong said without expression

"sure, take some rest too, you look so tired darling" Handong's mom said as she touch her daughter soft hair

Handong go upstairs. As she enter her room, her eyes started burst of tears. She's crying quietly. She really wanted to tell her mom everything but she can't. She quickly go to bathroom and take a shower.

-dinner-

"I'm done. Can I go to my room now?"

"are you full already? You didn't even touch all the food" Handong's mom feel weird about her daughter attitude

"I got enough. Thank you for the dinner mom" Handong smile weakly

"is it something bothering you honey?" Handong's dad asked as he saw his daughter doesn't look cheer as usual

"no, I'm okay"

"you know you can tell us everything right?" her dad said

"yes of course. But I'm really okay, don't worry mom, dad. I'm tired, can I go to my room now? I want to sleep early"

"sure goodnight darling" her mom and dad said

"good night mom, dad" Handong said while stand up and go to her room

She lay on her bed and close her eyes. She feel so tired, she really doesn't want to go to school tomorrow but what can she do? After a few minutes she fall asleep

-Handong's pov-

"Handong!" the teacher call me

"yes?"

"you got 98% the highest score"

Wow! I'm really stress these days but I didn't expect that my math score will be great. Suddenly I noticed someone glace at me. It's Ha Eunbyeol. The one that always got attention because of her good gred. She also bullying me, and I know what will happen next ....

Someone throw a paper to me. I take the paper and open it. In the paper said "I think we need to talk" I turn around and saw Eunbyeol look at me with a death glace

-toilet-

"highest score huh? Who are you to beat me?!" Eunbyeol said while push me to the toilet door while her friends checking outside the toilet to make sure there was nobody or teacher outside

"it's not my fault! Then why you let yourself lose to someone like me?!" I said while grab her hand that choke me

"this b*tch" Eunbyeol said while raise her hand to slap me

Eunbyeol slap me a few times until a blood come out from my lips

"You should know where your place loser!"
she said and kick my stomach twice before leave me alone in the toilet

I cough a few times. Why my life was so bad? I just want a normal high school life ...

I go to classroom. As I enter the class, they throw a paper to me

"you're cheating in the exam right?! If not how can you got the highest score? LOSER!" someone said

Seems like Eunbyeol ask them to do this. She smirk while look at me. I'm just freeze infront of the classroom do nothing ... just crying ...

-home-

"I'm home"

"welcome ho-" my mom word cutted when she saw a dry blood at my lips

"what's wrong with your face?!" mom asked

"nothing"

"Don't lie! How can it's nothing when your lips was bleeding!" mom shout at me

I started burst of tears. I don't want to tell mom but I can't hold my tears from fall. I sat down as my mom want to hug me but suddenly I cough and hold my stomach, the place that Eunbyeol kick me. My mom notice that I was holding a pain at stomach then she pulled up my clothes and saw a bruises

"what..." mom look shock

I can't say anything and crying

"darling... You... "

"yes mom, I got bully in school! They bully and beat me everyday! My classmate kick my stomach because I got the highest score in math exam! I don't know my fault but they hate me, bully me and beat me! Nobody want to be friends with me because I'm Chinese! What's wrong with Chinese?! We all human! Why they hate me so much? That's not school mom! That's hell! No... that's place bad more than hell"

I said while crying. My mom hug me as she listen to my words. Suddenly I feel dizzy and my eyes become heavy, my mom face was the last thing I saw ... I'm fainted

-after a few hours-

I'm slowly open my eyes. Where I am? This is not my room. Am I already in heaven?

"how was my daughter doctor?"

I hear my dad voice. Oh, I'm still alive. Am I in hospital?

"she's okay but she had a little depression. She need to rest and calm her thoughts. After rest for a few days she will be okay. Her stomach has bruises, I'll ask the nurse to apply a medicine and give a pills"

"okay thank you doctor" said mom and dad

"mom dad" I said while try to sit

"darling are you okay?" my mom ask

"yea"

"why you not tell us that you got bully?" my dad ask softly why touch my hair

"you both must be busy with your work. I don't want to make you worry"

"but you are our daughter darling. You have to tell us if there something wrong" my mom said

"now you know everything" I said while show my parents a weak smile

"you still can smile huh? This kid..." my dad said while pinch my cheek softly

"I don't want to show you that I'm weak"

"is it the reason you don't have appetite and always stay in your room?" my mom hold my hand

"maybe ..."

"We can let this happen again ... Let's transfer you to other school" my dad said
