chapter five

*switching over to first person*

it has been a week since soobin walked me home. ever since then, school has been a blur. i came to realize that being in the Dream Team, there were tons of drama. of course, as i was never popular or considered as high as i am now in a social structure, i had never experienced this kind of drama. 

there were fights and rumors almost everywhere within the school. upper classmen tended to expect more respect than the actual teachers did. however, the other girls that were apart of the Dream Team, tended to keep their cool. 

it was saturday morning. 9 am. i lay there restless, staring at my blank white wall. ive come to terms that soobin and i would never be together, especially since our groups are rivals. soobin, however, didn't see it that way. 'we are basically the same people,' he would say, 'meaning, both of our groups stand for the same thing. we are both popular for a reason, so why should we be rivals?'

i agreed with him wholeheartedly. however, the Dream Team would definitely disagree with our point of views. 

"y/n!" i heard a voice outside calling my name, and small rocks hit my window. i couldn't put my finger on it, but it was sure someone i knew. i looked outside my window and i saw it was jin, one of the people i had gotten close to within this week of school. "c'mon! i want you to meet someone."

i know you may be asking 'is jin apart of the Justice League?', and the answer is no. he is someone i met in my english class, someone that came to my rescue when i really needed a helping hand. with that being said, laying in bed all day in my sorrows would do no good, i needed a distraction and i needed to get out of the house.

"just let me get ready!" i shouted back at jin, a small smile forming on my face. how is it whenever i need him, he knows where to be? 

i closed my curtains as i figured out what to wear today. i knew it would be chillier later on, as it usually is during this time of year, and picked out a tanktop, leggings, and a hoodie to plop on top of me when it gets cold. i quickly brushed through my hair and teeth, grabbing the black mask that lay on my dresser. 

finally, i was outside of that devastating house. mrs. kim had gone to work, so i quickly sent her a text, letting her know where i would be. i walked down the beautifully decorated patio, seeing jin at the bottom step. 

"come here," he said, a smile plastered on his face. "i think you will like this."

i nodded my head as i made my way towards jin, looking around once i finally got to my destination. instead of seeing one person, i saw six other people, all looking at me.

"y/n," jin said softly, presenting the boys. "i know you have been upset about you and soobin, but i called a couple of my friends. they go to brainbox as well, and i believe once you get to know them, we will all be great friends."

"jin," i said softly, looking over at the handsome young men that stood before me. "i really appreciate this. how come they aren't apart of the Justice League or something?"

"we would like to have a normal high school life," one of them said, eyeing me up and down. "however, we have thought of it before. a group like us would be unstoppable; there are six of us after all, girls would be squealing to think they ever had a chance."

"i believe we would put the Justice League out of business," another one chuckled, his dimples flashing. wow, his dimples were gorgeous. "i heard you were apart of the Dream Team? how is that going, y/n?"

"well..." i started to say, twiddling my fingers. i have never had this much attention from guys before. "it's going okay. it's nothing like i thought it would be, you know, being this is my first year in high school- let alone my first year in korea. the girls are nice though, they seem to have a nice friendship going on, and i always wanted to be apart of a friendship like that. but, having a thing for someone all your friends hate and consider your rival, it sucks as well."

"what you are going through is quite unique." jin said, looking at the others then back to me. "that's why i brought these guys in. sure, they aren't apart of a big group that is known schoolwide, but if you ever need an escape from all of that mess, just know we are here for you. anyways, boys, you should probably introduce yourselves."

"oh," one of them said, coming forward from the others just a bit. "i almost forgot. my name is jungkook, its a pleasure to meet you y/n. these are my friends: yoongi, namjoon, hoseok, taehyung, jimin, and you already know jin."
