Mallori's POV

I feel bad for yelling at him like that. He seemed almost nice. I couldn't stand what he was doing, but he seemed nice.

With a hot meal in our stomachs, Maddie and I make our way back to the dorms.

7:30. My alarm rings out, interrupting my beautiful sleep.

My first class starts at 8:30, and I'm fully prepared. "Maddie," I whisper, shaking her shoulder to wake her up.

She groans and rolls over, "It's too early to college," she wines. I laugh and shake her again.

"But it's our very first day to college! We must college!" I laugh. She finally sits up and looks at me.

"Do not want." She mutters and gets out of bed repeating the phrase.

She's so much like me it's unbelievable. I'm so glad we got out in a room together. We get ready and go to our first class.

We got lucky, because all our classes are the same. That means I have an automatic friend to spend the day with.

We get to class five minutes early, giving us time to strategically pick our seats. We pick the two in the third row. Not too close to the front, but not too close to the back either.

I turn to face Maddie, starting random conversation. About two minutes later, I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Is this seat taken?" The blonde from last night looks at me.

I give him a short shake of my head and he sits down. I wonder if he thinks I'm upset with him still. Was I too mean just a second ago?

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for last night. It's really not what it looked like," he says.

"How is it not what it looked like? Were you or were you not spray painting the wall?" I ask, turning to face him.

"No! Well I mean, yes, but not to vandalize it! To decorate it! And make it look pretty!" He said.

"Well I'm so very sorry, but vandalism isn't pretty," I said. Just as he opened his mouth to reply, the professor walked in.

"Hello ladies and gentleman, welcome to my class. I am Professor Clark. You will call me Professor Clark, professor, or Clark. I hope you like the seats you've picked as they will be your permanent seats unless I say otherwise. Now to begin, please pull out your textbooks and read Chapter 13 on Analytic Trigonometry."

Great, I'm stuck sitting next to this possibly sweet douche all year and I have to read about analytic trigonometry.

I pull out my book and begin to read, but I notice the blonde doodling on his paper. It's really quite beautiful what he's doodling. It's a busy design, but simple at the same time. Gorgeous.

I bump his arm and mouth "that's pretty". I want to try to make amends with this boy. After all, I'm stuck sitting next to him all year.

He blushes and mouths back "thanks".

I'm left to read the rest of chapter 13 and wonder what's to come of my "friendship" with this possibly nice, possible vandalizer.
