I stood in the doorway for a second, hesitating on if I really wanted to go through with this. We held eye contact for a while without saying a word. I think he expected me to apologize or something. Too bad he wasn't getting one.
Why would I apologize to this old dimwit? He's the one that started the whole problem earlier. Not to mention his lack of an apology.
I refuse to let this man intimidate me with his energy, and eyes...dark sensual eyes...especially considering he's the one in the wrong.
I continued walking into the room returning the same blank cold stare to him. He stood up walking behind me to close the door, we then both sat at his desk.
"Mrs. Y/n" The way he said my name. It was like he was testing out what it sounds like coming from his mouth.
"Yes" I answered blandly. "Before we start this interview I'd like to say, that the behavior you displayed earlier, it was a bit... much" he explained to me apathetically.
Rolling my eyes at his words I began to speak. "Forgive me for what I'm about to say, but were you not the clumsy one in this situation? You stepped on my heel, not only that, you scuffed them as well. These shoes cost more than your little knock off Valentino shoes sir" I stated rather annoyed while cocking an eyebrow at him.
He paused going through his paper work. He just sat there for a moment, thinking of a response to my rather clever rebuttal.
"So what position are you interviewing for again Ms. Y/l/n" he ignored my comment.
"Ignorant pig" I muttered quietly while looking to the side.
"Care to Repeat that?" he said, it was as if he was daring me to.
"Leasing agent, sorry, sometimes I speak a little too low" I said with a bitter smile. Biting my tongue hasn't exactly been something I'm good at. However I really need this job.
He hummed in response marking something down. "How did you hear about the position opening?" His voice is so monotone, he seems uninterested in the conversation, like his mind is else where.
I adjusted my self in my seat crossing my legs. "I was looking for good real estate companies to intern at and get a better understanding in the industry" i answered.
" that so?" He said leaning into the conversation. "Yes indeed, but then I saw a website recommending Shotos group, and I decided to apply" I said grinning. I could see him roll his eyes slightly then lean back into his seat.
"Ms.Y/l/n, would you like to continue this interview when you're feeling less impertinent?" he asked clasping his hands together.
"No, but you know what I would like? An apology for earlier" I said leaning forward raising my brow, awaiting his comeback.
Mr.Shoto sighed, caressing his hair. Leaning back in his seat he just stared at me. We stayed looking at each other just a moment before he got up and sat on the desk in front of me.
He spread his legs a bit whilst gripping the desk and leaning forward. He was few inches away from my face. He was invading my space but subconsciously I was okay with it.
Being up close with him gave me time to take in his facial features. He had some facial hair growing, not enough to shave but just the right amount. His hair was tied up into a man bun. His hair being tied up highlighted he jawline.
His eyes were sharp, if I were anyone else I'd probably feel a bit intimidated by him.
His physique was muscular. He wasn't overly muscular to the point where it was 'scary'. He's just slim and muscular, makes me curious how it would feel to trace his chest with my fingers. My mind wondered for a bit while he sat there until he finally decided to break the silence.
"Y/n"
"Ms. Y/l/n" I corrected him
"I apologize for causing you to make a fool of yourself in the lobby, but that doesn't give you the right to have such a curt attitude"
He stopped in the midst of his sentence to think.
" I'll have to teach you a thing or two about manners and etiquette while you're here" he said getting up and adjusting his cuff lings.
I sat speechless. Being honest after all I've said I didn't expect to get the job. I just wanted to voice how I felt for a moment. However, I just bad mouthed this man to his face and he still let me get the job. I guess I should show I'm grateful.
Pulling me out of my thoughts he asked me something
"What experience do you have?"
"Well I've watched a lot of real estate shows..." I trailed.
I could hear a faint laugh leave his lips. "Hm, so I see" We sat there in silence once again as he wrote on some papers.
"Well, I believe this is it for now," he said getting up walking towards the door opening it. Soon after him I got up stepped out the door. As I stepped out the door I felt his grasp on my hand. It was gentle as if to not hurt me. He then spoke again. " We'll be in touch soon, make sure you have your notifications on" he then let go of my wrist and stood back a step. I could feel his hesitation to let go.
I utter a simple thank you with a smile and walk towards the elevator. I could feel eyes lingering over me. I look back briefly and see him still watching me walk. He notices me looking back at him and turns around shutting the door behind him.
As I enter the elevator and press the close doors button, a hand slips through causing the doors to open back up. "So how did it go?" Hizashi asked while sliding through the elevator doors.
"Uhm well, I think I got the job" I said leaning on the wall of the elevator. "I knew you could do it, I'll let you know all about the policies and everything you'll need for when you start" he said smiling.
the elevator doors opened, we said our goodbyes and went home. I think today was rather successful, don't you?
