His Prince (Luigi x Bowser)

Chapter Two

The woods outside of the mushroom kingdom is absolutely beautiful. I could spend the rest of my life in these woods; the foliage, flowers, wildlife are all what makes me proud to be heir to the throne.

"Earth to Mario...Mario!" I heard a faint voice speak next to me that took me out of my dream-like trance.

"Huh...what?" I absentmindedly turned my head to the direction the voice was coming from. Oh, it's just Peach. "Oh! Yes, my darling?" I smiled and waited for her to reply.

"I said, have you chosen an outfit for tonight?" She said slightly annoyed, but albeit quiet as if she's cautious of having anyone tune into our conversation.

"Of course, Toad picked it out for me a few weeks ago! It looks ravishing." I smiled and continued to walk along the dirt covered trail man-made by one of the construction toads.

"Oh, great..."

I could tell she was upset, like always. I can never seem to satisfy her no matter what I do and I do a lot for her! I even gave her her own room in the castle for when she decides she wants to sleepover and have a room to herself.

"What's the matter, my love?"

"Nothing...it's just that...." she hesitated on her words indicating she didn't want to talk about whatever was in her mind.

"Spit it out, I won't bite."

"I was just wondering when we were going to get married is all..."

My eyes widened and my heart dropped at her out-of-the-blue statement. I mean, sure I've thought about marrying her, but I just feel as though right now is the best time with my father being sick and me having to take care of majority of the kingdom. I have a lot of responsibilities and getting married isn't necessarily on my radar.

"Well, sweetheart-"

"Ugh, here we go again." She interrupted me while rolling her eyes and crossing her arms turning away from me. "We've been together for 6 years, Mario!"

"I know, I know, it's just that now isn't the right time, my love. I promise, once my father gets better, I'll have the toads plan our wedding day, okay?" I turned to her and held her soft and delicate hands, I looked deep into her beautiful blue eyes and couldn't help but smile at her perfection. I never thought I would have been blessed with the most beautiful woman in the Mushroom Kingdom. She's smart, brave, charming; everything I look for in a woman. It hurts me to know that I'm hurting her and I wish things were different this time around. She smiled and got down on her knees to be at eye level with me. She gave me a small kiss on my forehead and proceeded to give me a passionate hug. I returned the hug rested my head on shoulders appreciating to affection I'm receiving. After a few minutes, we let go of each other and continued to walk along the beautiful path heading towards the castle.

"How's Luigi handling it?"

"Excuse me?"

"Your father being sick and all."

"Oh! Uh, I haven't really talked to him in awhile about it, but I'm sure he's fine." I cringed at my words at the thought of me not speaking to my own brother, who I live with, about the condition our father is in. Maybe I've been a bit too hard on him lately...

"Oh, okay."

"What are you wearing to the festival? Probably one of the dresses I got for you, huh?" I confidently said while smiling.

"Well, Daisy and I are going to wear our knight uniforms, I thought it would be better than a dress. You know, it'll make us look more important!" She smiled gesturing her hands to be perceived as a large object.
