Remus awoke with a start. There was a loud voice outside his room.

"Lyall stop arguing, he needs to go. What will he have here? Let him go and make a life for himself."

"I'm not sure Dumbledore he's just a kid."

'Dumbledore,' Remus recognized the name from somewhere.

"Just think about it I'll give you a week. School starts in two, owl me your answer."

"Yes, yes of course now see yourself out it's late."

"Goodbye Lyall, tell hope I said hello."

Remus heard a loud crack and then footsteps so he pretended to sleep. As the door opened he heard his fathers voice, softer than usual.

"I know you need this, I love you my boy," his father whispered so as not to wake him. And with that he left closing the door lightly.

Remus had no idea what they were talking about but he did know it was big. He tried not to think about it long before he fell asleep.

It had been two days since the Dumbledore man came to their house and everyone was acting strange. His father pulled him aside that night and told him to sit.

"Son, I have some news," Lyall said a hint of excitement in his voice.

"What is it," Remus questioned innocently.

"Well I'm sure you've heard of Hogwarts, yes." Remus nodded. "Oh good, well this is the year you are of age to attend and your mother and I have talked and we decided it's safe for you to go."

Remus was speechless, all he could do was widen his eyes in excitement because, 'I get to go to Hogwarts.'

His father hugged him and told him that this was a great privilege, which Remus was well aware of.

Remus was suddenly distracted from the feeling of the upcoming moon and now was focusing on the fact that he might have friends soon.

The next day they went to Diagon Alley to get the school supplies. He got an 11" cypress wood wand with dragon heartstring. His family purchased second hand robes because they could not afford new ones, but he didn't complain.

Remus saw so many people there, some old, some young, but most were his age. While he was there he kept to himself as he was usually shy around new people, but did wave occasionally to people that looked friendly enough.

Once he arrived back at their house he went straight to bed, back aching and limbs sore. As he fell asleep there was a huge grin on his face.
