{Lexa's dream//flashback POV}

I was sitting alone in lunch. As I did everyday after Costia and I broke up. I was waiting for my daily call from my parents. They always called during lunch so I wasn't as alone as I actually was.

They finally called. "How's our favorite daughter?" My father questions. "I'm your only daughter" I laugh. "Our only daughter that's turning 17 tomorrow" my mom sings. "Just another number, just another year. It's not that big of a deal" I sigh. This was the first year that I won't be celebrating with my friends.

"No big deal? Well maybe we'll stay in California" my father jokes. "You know that's not what I meant. I can't wait to see you guys again" I reply. "We can't wait to see you too sweetie. Three days is too long" my mom groans.

"How's school treating you? Are they any better?" My mom questions. I knew exactly what she was talking about, she didn't even have to elaborate.

"No. Not any better. All they do is send me dirty looks. I'm literally staring at Costia and Roan be all over each other. It's like the past two years haven't happened. I just-did she never feel anything for me? We were together all the time. Did it really not mean anything to her? Because it meant everything to me" I say wiping away a tear.

"I know it's hard. It'll get better. I just can't answer any of those questions" my mom says. "You know I never liked her. Aden didn't either" my dad adds on. "Yeah. Maybe I should've listened to you guys" I say chuckling.

"Ontari, actually tried to talk to me today. She said that she was sorry and stuff. She said that she didn't know. Which, I don't believe. Considering the rest of them said they did know. Either way, she didn't try try hard to apologize considering she's sitting right next to Costia right now" I say sighing.

"How about all of this weekend we can stuff our faces with ice cream?" My mom suggests. "Will do" I say immediately. "I'm invited too, right?" My dad jokes. "Of course, dad. Wouldn't be the same without you" I say.

"Alright, hunny, we gotta go. We love you. And remember, we're coming home for you tonight! For your special day, never forget that" my mom says. "I won't. Love you guys too, bye" I said and hung up the phone.

I will never forget it. They're sacrificing so much, just for me. I have the best parents in the world.

It was hours later, I was just waiting for my parents to walk through the door as I got a call. "Anya? What's up?" I question. "Lexa, I don't know how to say this" she begins. "Anya, what's going on?" I question becoming more and more nervous.

"It's your mom and dad. They got into an accident. I'm sorry, they're gone" she stutters out between sobs. "No. No. They can't be" I say beginning to cry. "I'm sorry" was all Anya could say before I hung up unable to speak anyone. I couldn't even think. I couldn't breath.

"Wake up, Lexa. It's only a dream" my dad says shaking me. "Dad?" I question. "I'm right here" he says. "How-I thought you died. Months ago, your plane. It crashed" I say. "Then what am I doing here?" He questions. "I-I don't know. Where's mom?" I question. "I'm right here. You know why we're here, Lexa" my mom says. "No I don't" I say as my breathing gets heavy.

"We're here for you. We're here because of you" my dad says. "You killed us, Lexa" my mom adds on. "I know-I'm-I'm so sorry" I say. "Are you?" My mom snaps. "You took me away from my son" my dad says. "I know, I'm sorry" I reply quickly. "You took me away from my best friend" my mom says. "This is all your fault, Lexa. Don't ever forget that. It was for your special day, never forget that, sunshine" my dad says.
