'How do you destroy a monster, without becoming one?' my teachers would always open an close their lessons with this phrase. back then we'd answer back with versions of 'You can't be a monster if you fight them.'

Children couldn't fully understand that in order to kill a monster, you have to become one.

And, that's what we were back then, children. Children who had yet even began to understand how the world worked. Children who, while not completely innocent, were naive.

We should have listened more closely to our teacher warnings. Maybe than the pain and hatred for anyone that wasn't one of us, wouldn't have been such a shock.

We learned the true answer to our teacher's questions over time and experiences. We learned that in order to fight monsters, you'd have to become one.
