Spirited Away is a 2001 Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, animated by Studio Ghibli, and the main role is played by Rumi Hiiragi.
It tells the story of Chihiro Ogino, a 10 year old girl who, while moving to a new neighbourhood, enters the world of spirits. There, a witch named Yubaba, takes Chihiro's name and changes it to Sen, and turns her parents into pigs. Chihoro takes a job working in Yubaba's bathhouse to find a way to free herself and her parents and return to the human world.
The film owes it's popularity to the beautiful animation and cinematography which creates a magical atmosphere, as well as the outsanding soundtrack and voice acting paired with an emotional and unpredictable plot, you'll be at the edge of your seat during the whole film.
As all Studio Ghibli films, this one is suitable for people of all ages, although it might be a little too complicated for little kids. I highly reccomend it for anyone who likes fantasy films and/or Japanese folklore.
