"So what's your second quirk?" He inquired.

"It's... Kind of hard to explain," I said, slightly annoyed.

Midoriya simply stared at me and made it clear that he didn't care if it took me ten minutes or ten days to explain this. I sighed.

"Alright, then... Allow me to demonstrate, I guess."

Closing my eyes, I made an attempt to block out the noise in the lunchroom. Breathe in. Breathe out.

Slowly, subtlely, the outside world faded away. Energy flowed through me as I took deep breaths, spreading from my lungs throughout my body, reaching every nerve. And, suddenly, in the blackness, I could see a blue wisp of light. I took that dim hue and enhanced it, using my mind to form it.

A hyena, I thought to myself. And then I could see it, it's sleek fur shining in the dark. I took a moment to think, formulated a message, and transcribed it into the wisp. With a small wave, I sent it off.

Opening my eyes, the cacophany rushed back as if my head had finally reached the surface of deep water and emerged. Uraraka's eyes looked about twice their normal size, and Iida was doing something weird with his hands. In the palm of my open hand was a sparkling blue hyena.

I turned over to Midoriya and held the wisp out to him. He reached forward, as if he made to touch it, when it suddenly leapt out of my cupped hands and collided with his chest. The wisp exploded into thin dust that dissipated immediately.

Now that the show was over, Midoriya looked at me with bewilderment written all over his face. Bewilderment... And slight embarrassment.

"Are you going to tell them what it said?" I asked him, wearing a cheeky smile.

Midoriya laughed nervously.

"My name is Izuku Midoriya and I ask too many questions," He said, blushing. "That was... Interesting. So do you send people your thoughts with that?"

"Yeah, pretty much. It can come in handy sometimes, but in my opinion it's just really flashy."

Midoriya nodded. I saw him reopening his notebook and, dreading where this was going, stopped him before he could ask me anything else.

"If you want a full explanation we'll have to schedule a time," I said wearily.

Midoriya nodded. "That's okay. I really wanna learn about your ability as much as I can, so it'd be better to get information when there's plenty of time to spare."

Uraraka piped up. "It's really cool, (Y/n)! Even if it doesn't always come in handy. I've never seen such an interesting-"

"I personally don't see what's so great about a showy quirk like that!"

A low, rough voice cute Uraraka off. I sat up straight, somewhat startled by the intrusion. The voice was coming from behind me. Putting down my sandwich, I turned around and sat facing the challenger.

It was another one of the kids in class 1-A. It was the one who sat in the front and didn't know what a hairbrush was. He was leaning against one of the other tables, staring daggers into my skull and looking pissed as hell.

Having clearly been confronted by such a tough looking student, I probably should have come up with something nice and timid to say, so maybe he would quit staring at me and I could finally eat my sandwich. But, instead, I decided to go the dangerous route.

"You use some sort of gel on that hair?" I blurted out, barely thinking.

Oh, sure. A witty remark wouldn't make him angrier than he already is.
