Principal Nezu's Office, 11:30 AM

Your POV

"I'm very sorry to have to enroll her so late, Mr. Principal. We were dealing with some... family matters at home."

I sat awkwardly off  to the side, holding my bag on my lap and watching intently as my mother apologized to the talking mouse in a suit. I learned about the principal before, since I took part in the entrance exams just like everybody else, but so much had happened in the past five months that I'd forgotten how bizarre that was.

"That's quite alright, Ms. (L/n), we're simply happy she's here. Now, (Y/n) is going to be placed in class 1-A, taught by Mr. Aizawa. Quite a good teacher, really, and I'm sure she'll do just fine with her test scores. Was there anything else that you wanted to know?"

The small principal smiled pleasantly and waited for a response.

"Oh, there was one other question I had... About the dorms, will she be able to sign up for one still?" Mom asked, sparing a glance in my direction.

The principal nodded at my mother. "We still have three rooms available, so if she would like to stay in the dormitories, then she may."

A small smile spread over my face when I heard this. Having my own room means that I can do whatever I want without my mom breathing down my neck. Not that I have any particularly bad ambitions, but it would be nice if I could enjoy some alone time without someone popping in every half hour to check up on me. Plus, I could stay up as late as I want every night and she wouldn't know a thing.

My mom smiled politely at the principal and then turned over to me.

"Alright, well I've gotta get going. We've still got boxes at the new place that need unpacking. I have to go take care of that."

Principal Nezu focused his attention on some papers at his desk, and my mom closed in to hug me. I flinched slightly as she did this; Hugs are unexpected and uncomfortable at the best of times. Mom finally let go of me, and swiftly left the office.

Principal Nezu gathered up a few more papers, and then stood up.

"Please follow me to your classroom, Ms. (L/n)," He said kindly. I stood up and tried not to think about the fact that I was stalking a mouse that was half my size and followed him out of the office. Thinking about it, I realized that Mr. Nezu was one of the most pleasant principals I've ever encountered. The ones I've had were always either crazy strict or just plain crazy. Hopefully this one's genuinely nice, I thought, trying not to step on his tail as it trailed out behind him.

At last, Mr. Nezu stopped and turned to a big, brown door with 1-A printed on it in two huge, blocky characters. He rapped on the door three times and waited with his hands (paws?) behind his back. We stood in the hall for a few moments, and then I heard shuffling behind the door. It swung open and revealed to me a man who looked like more of a shut in than I was. I thought I recognized him, but it was extremely difficult for me to tell. His thick, black hair settled around his face like a cocoon, and he was wearing a scarf so large that it covered most of his features. The only part I could see was his eyes, which really completed the murderous homeless person look.

"This is Ms. (L/n), Mr. Aizawa. She's the new student I told you we were expecting sometime this month." The stout principal passed the papers in his hands to the man as he introduced me. Mr. Nezu seemed completely unfazed by this guy's unkempt appearance, so I assumed that I was supposed to just accept it as normal.

While I was making a massive effort to look anywhere but into those intense eyes, Mr. Nezu turned to me.

"Ms. (L/n), this is Mr. Aizawa. He'll be your homeroom teacher this year."
