(Author's Note: this chapter is after the competition mentioned in the last chapter.)
Abby's POV:
After the next competition, I was pleased with the girls. The ALDC took all of the top spots, and Nia's two solos took 2nd and 3rd. I eventually decided to let Maddie do another solo, which took 1st place!
This week, Maddie has two solos, a duet, a trio, and she's leading the group dance. Nia has a duet, trio, and group dance. Unfortunately, Kendall didn't do as well. She again forgot part of the dance, so she only has the group dance this week. Chloe did a decent job, so she has a duet with Maddie. Nia's duet is with Brooke. The trio is Maddie, Nia, and Paige. Paige also did well, so she has a solo.
I decided to work with Maddie first. She has an acro solo, and a ballet solo. She did learn fast this time, and if she doesn't do well, there will be a big problem.
Maddie's POV:
I'm glad Abby decided to give me another chance. I do think I'll do well on this solo.
*Later in the practice*
"Releve, Maddie, Releve! Releve before you turn!" Abby exclaimed. I did, and fell. I heard a crack and immediately started sobbing. After that, I blacked out.
