Karl's POV

"It's too cold
For you here
And now, let me hold
Both-"

We've been practicing the song we're planning on singing at the 'Battle of the Bands' tonight, but of course, after a couple seconds, the door slams open, revealing a pissed off Clay or Dream and his band. Those honking-

"We need to practice. Can we have the band room for now?" Dream's tone implied that it was a demand.

"Well hello boys." I say in a honeyed voice that I usually use to cover up my usual voice. "Next time you come into here please knock, we're going to finish singing then you can steal the room." I say harshly. We start the song from a little bit before where they interrupted.

I try to sing extra confidently to make them think I have it together, or to scare them.

"The holes of my sweater~"

I mumble the last line, then look at Skeppy and Q. "Okay we need to fix some of that. Skeppy, can we run through that again just start the beat please?" I project to them, taking a sip of tea and purposely placing my cup on Clay's lyrics. I notice him staring with annoyance  "What are you looking at?" I laugh.

"You said when you finished we get the room. You finished, so leave." Dream argued, I roll my eyes and gave in. "Fine. Skep is your Garage free?"

"Sure c'mon we gotta get ready either way, Karl don't forget your notebook." Skeppy says as we all get our stuff together.

"GUYS I'M STARVING CAN WE GET SOME FOOD?!" Quackity complained, packing up his guitar. I dramatically roll my eyes at him and nod.

"Sure, but you're driving. See you at the battle of the bands boys~" I hum and walk out the door, carrying our instruments with me.

"What are we getting?" Skeppy asks, while we look to Q hoping he has an answer.

"I don't know, what's the cheapest place to go?"

"Probably McDonald's." I mumble as I look toward them. They nod and we get in the car.

"I CALL AUX CORD!" I yell, shuffling my liked songs. It plays 'I wanna slam my head against the wall' by glaive.

I hum along to the first verse until the chorus and everyone in the car goes mental.

I wanna slam my head against the wall 'til I cannot feel at all
She doesn't really like me, she likes alcohol
I watched my idols fall, I might just end it all
I wanna slam my head against the wall 'til I cannot feel at all
She doesn't really like me, she likes alcohol
I watched my idols fall, I might just end it all

We all scream at the top of our lungs,  jamming out to the lyrics!

After a couple songs we get to the McDonald's and Quackity starts to order our food.

"Welcome to McDonald's, what can I get you?" The speaking box said in a muffled voice that you could never decipher, but Quackity says he speaks 'fluent fast food worker' whatever the honk that means.

"Hi can I get 1 burger with  everything on it, 1 cheese burger and-" Quackity trailed off looking at me.

"A cheese burger without the burger  please!" I yell so they can hear me.

"A grilled cheese? Sor-" the box replied.

"No a che-"

"He'll have a kids meal with a sprite and the apple slices." Quackity cuts me off. I give him a death glare then go back onto my phone, mumbling a threat but he Ignores it.

We get back to Skeppy's and sit down on the garage floor with our food. Q offered me ketchup as a joke. I didn't throw up or anything, but I was disgusted.

"Can I have my sprite?" I mumble, taking a bite out of the dry chicken nugget; it was the least he could do for not giving me my order.

"No! I paid, I get the sprite." Q said while taking a sip. "What kind of shit do they put in this sprite and where can I buy it?"

"It's probably just the rust from the machine, or some shit." Skeppy said as Quackity looked at him with the most annoyed face and then bit his lip making all of us  laugh again.

After we finish eating, we change some lines in the song and sing it, getting it in our head, knowing it by heart.

"Sounds good! I'm gonna skate home and get ready! Skeppy, can you pick me up?" I ask getting my stuff together.

"I have to pick up Bad. he's coming to the show tonight. SHIT he's coming tonight! I'm gonna get ready! Q YOU'RE PICKING UP KARL! I'LL TAKE CARE OF INSTRUMENTS!!" Skeppy yelled as he ran upstairs . I heard the shower start to run from up the stairs.

"K! See ya Q, I'll text you when I'm ready." I grabbed my skateboard out of Skeppy's car, and I head home.

I shuffle my liked songs and it starts playing 'freaks' by 'surf curse'. As I hum along to the lyrics, people stare at me while I zoom by them.

'Don't cry, I am just a freak'

I start going faster, not caring if I might hurt myself, just skating.

I stop, realizing I'm on my street. I walk onto my driveway and unlock my door. No one was home yet since both my parents worked full time jobs.

I go upstairs to get ready for tonight. I put a navy sweater with a khaki collar underneath it. I cuff my jeans because- gay, and put some jewelry on.

I check my phone and notice that I still have 45 minutes till I have to leave, so I get out my nail polish and paint my nails black.

~time skip~

I'm scrolling through Twitter until I hear a car honking outside my house. I grab my things and run downstairs, before I run out the door. I write a note for when my parents came home.

"Hey guys!
I'm going over a friends house for the night!
Call me if you need anything!
-Karl"

I run out the door and lock it.
"LETS GO BABY!" Q yells while speeding through the street. Me and Q have been friends since we were kids. He's always been by my side, even when no one else was.

"You good? You're zoning out, main character." Quackity nudges my shoulder, gaining my attention.

"What's wrong with being the main character Mr. Comic relief?" I say back. He rolls his eyes and turns up the radio.

"I don't wanna fucking be here anymore
I'm leaving forever, if you'll miss me whatever, I don't care"

The song on the radio screamed.

"Is that you?!" I yell. He looks at me with a confused look.

"It sounds like you prove me wrong!!" I say again.

"Oh my g- I hate you" Q mumbled, trying not to laugh.

"Love you too ass hat" I hummed as he parks behind the place.

"You think Skeppy's here yet?" I ask.

"Nope! Come on, let's set up before anyone else gets here." Q said, as we walked in from the back door.
