"I would presume you all have made a good relationship between you all." I hear Kazue talk to me, Binsa and Noah.

"Has this woman not been informed of what happened last time I went to training?" I ask myself with a sigh.

"Well—" I start to say before I am stopped by another voice.

"Yes we have. Our trust has been put in one another and we are doing quite well. Isn't that right (Y/n)?" Noah asks.

I cock an eyebrow at him before turning back to my mother. "Yes we have. We all love each other."

I turn back to the window as there is a silence between us all. I think they all hear the sarcasm in my voice.

"Where are we exactly headed?" I ask out of curiosity.

"The other side of Liberio - near the coast where you came from." Noah answers.

"I was asking mum but okay." I reply without even looking at him. "I thought we were already in Liberio."

"We are in Liberio. We don't live near central or near the coast so you better get used to these little journeys." He smirks.

It was quite a long journey to get back to the sea and it was quite boring too. None of dared to speak to one another so we all just sat there in silence.

time skip—

We arrived at the docks and there was a crowd of people around a massive ship. There was a space in the centre of the closest part to the ship, that was obviously where we were going to watch.

I exit the carriage first with the others following behind us. The other carriages had also stopped behind us and everyone was getting out.

We all gathered and made our way to the front of the crowd. A lot of flashes started to pop up everywhere I looked. My 'family' seemed to like them so they waved and smiled at the people who held the black boxes. I hated it so I move closer to William.

"Hey, Will. I don't like these lights. They hurt my head." I tell him.

"Here. Take this." He takes off his blazer from his suit and places it over my head. "It should manage to block out the lights."

"Thanks." I make sure it covers most of my face until we reach the coast. The jacket smelled very fragranced and very clean.

I manage to get to a certain spot in-front of everyone where I can't see the flashes of light. I remove the jacket from over my head and I hand it back over to William.

"Thank you." He takes it and puts it over his shoulders.

The sun comes out from behind the clouds and a large shadow is cast over us. I look up and see several people standing on the boat - including Yelena.

"You may not know this, but it is tradition that the person with the fire element is the one to declare that the boat can proceed to leave." Kazue explains to me.

"I put my hand on it to show it belongs to Marley?" I ask.

"Yes. You can take off one of your gloves and place your hand on it. It should imprint your hand on it." She answers.

I nod and start to walk closer to the boat in-front of everyone else. I look up at Yelena, who was reaching for me over the rail, and I get up in my top toes to see what she wanted.

"Soldier! Get back up!" I hear a loud voice shout from the boat.

"No it's fine." I reply. She manages to reach close enough to me to I can hear what she wants to say. "What do you want?" I whisper.

"Go to the control room every two days - starting today in the evening. Someone will be in there but get rid of them. I will be able to talk to you." She whispers back. "The less boat we send over there, the more time we have to make a plan."

"Sure. Whatever. Don't actually rely on me to be there though." I reply as she pulls away and gets back on the boat.

I start to take off one of my gloves off and I hold it in the other hand. I place my hand on the side of the boat until I see steam rising from underneath my hand. I remove it and see that there was a black mark in the shape of my hand. Everyone started to cheer and clap around us.

I place my glove back over my hand and I regroup with the rest of my 'family'. They all started to cheer and pat my back or shoulders. The little ones all jumped in excitement but I didn't know what they were excited for. I just placed my hand on a piece of metal.

"Why are you all excited?" I ask trying to avoid all their touches.

"This is the first part of learning how to become queen - doing small but important jobs." Kazue explains.

"Yeah sure. I'll love doing this for the rest of my life." I smile.

The boat starts to pull away from the dock and make its way further and further into the ocean. I had faith in Yelena - not much but I did. I trusted what her decisions were going to be and I hoped she would make the good ones.

"Hurt a single one of them and I'll have your head." I say in my head.

————————————

I watched as the boat sailed away into the distance and towards the sunset. I refused to go with my family back to the other side of Liberio since I needed a break from all this nonsense. I was about to go crazy.

I was sat on a bench, next to a house, and watched as people walked by. Many stopped or slowed down to look at me and my armband. Some even attempted to talk to me but I ignored them. I was definitely not happy here. In fact, I hated it here. The one thing I now hated more than titans was this place.

The sun was setting behind the horizon and the sky was turning orange. I felt numb. I felt hopeless.

"Just forget about them, (Y/n)." I tell myself. "They can't and won't come back for you. Whatever that woman said about waiting, is false. She is crazy. She doesn't know what is happening." I try convince myself. "No! They wouldn't just abandon me! Would they?"

I groan and put my head in my hands.

"You okay? You seem a little worked up." I hear a familiar voice from behind me.

I turn around and see Reiner, Pieck and Porco stood by a corner of a building. They all come towards me and sit on the bench next to me.

"Listen." Porco starts to talk to me. "I'm sorry for burning your book."

"You sound reluctant. Did Pieck make you apologise?" I ask him without looking at him.

"What?! What on earth would make you think that I would do what she says?! This was completely out of my free will." He slightly raises his voice.

"Fine then. You are forgiven." I say. He might have been forgiven but I was still  awfully angry at him. At least he said sorry then. "What are you doing here? It's a long way to get back."

"Well we couldn't miss your special moment." Pieck wraps one of her arms around me. "You did great."

"Why is everyone congratulating me on such a small job. I just placed my hand on it." I tell her.

"We haven't been able to set a ship sail anywhere since you weren't here. Now we can do that." Reiner explains.

"That makes sense I guess." I then remember that Yelena told me to go to the control room which I'm guessing is in that building near the training grounds. "I've got to go. I'll see you soon." I get up and start to walk away. The boat was still in sight as a tiny dot in the distance. I still had time.

"Hey wait! We brought you donuts!" Reiner shouts as I get further and further away.

"That will have to wait. Save them for me." I tell them. I spot a carriage with a horse just stood there with it. No one was with the horse and I immediately thought of a plan.

I climb onto the horse and disconnect it  from the carriage. I grip the reins and kick the side of the horse. It starts to sprint down the path and civilians move out of the way. This was going to take a while but it would be quicker than the ride here as long as I found my way back.
