This story is about two siblings, who had lost their parents at an early stage of their life. The older brother, Landon, has a negative outlook towards the world due to the circumstances they've been through. On the contrary, the youngest sibling Altea was an optimistic and a bright young girl.
Landon was the more introverted type, yet that didn't mean he lacked the social skills to communicate. He himself prefers not to interact with others due to his personality. At one point in his life, he stopped caring for the world's fate, purely minding his own business. He had a liking for anime and manga, and, thanks to that, he discovered physics and philosophy. By now, he has amassed more knowledge than any of peers.
Altea had the opposite personality. Bright, cheery, outgoing. Though she may seem as just an innocent little girl, the truth is far from what it seems. Altea was a meticulous, crafty, cunning little girl. If not for the people she has surrounded herself with, she would've been recognized as a child prodigy. She also had fast reflexes that even Landon was impressed off.
Both of their parents had died when they were young, and now, they've lived in an orphanage ever since. Time passed, and now Landon was 15, Altea was 11. Before, Landon and Altea lived in Japan, but when Landon reached his sixth birthday, they had moved due to the death of their parents. Making them live in an orphanage.
They were going by the days, when suddenly, a nun came in and informed the two that they were getting adopted. Landon had an uninterested reaction, seemingly as if he had never heard of what the nun had announced. With Altea showing all the excitement she could muster. They were told that they were getting adopted by an ex-senator, and that they would live in the countryside in Japan.
It was three days later, and they were finally getting to meet their adopter.
"Ah! Hello, are you two Altea and Landon?" she asked.
But before they could respond, they were shocked to see the beauty in front of them. Landon immediately dispersed the thought and questioned the lady.
"So, are you going to be like our previous adopters?"
Asked Landon in a cold tone. But the lady was seemingly unfazed by this act.
"Hey, brother! Don't be rude! Please excuse my brother, we are more than happy to meet you!"
"Tsk, fine. I'll let it go for now just cause you asked sis." 'Now that I look this lady seems to have some dominating presence, but seems as if she was totally innocent. Huh that's indeed interesting.'
"Aw, what an angel, it's nice to meet you two too, my name is Alice. I look forward to having you two."
The other children who saw their interaction with the beauty, were blushing and envious of the two. Some more than others.
*During the drive.
"Excuse me, can I call you... mother?" Asked Altea in an innocent and lovely tone. No living being could possibly refuse such her.
"Yes. I would love that. You can both call me that." She says as she glances towards Landon.
"I'll call you whatever I feel like it, but I will comply a little bit since my sister seems to like you."
"That's acceptable."

Once they arrive, Altea immediately gasps at how large the mansion was. She thought, "Are we really on the countryside?"
"Whoa! Mother, you have a very big house!"
"Hmm? Oh, yes, that is just one of the few perks that comes with money. All that matters really, is a place for you two to live comfortably."
