The Dark and The Light-Billy

The Soiree (1)

Leo and I rushed out of a door to the main dining room to have breakfast with our mother we were about to enter when Daimler's voice stopped us 

"Your weekly breakfast with your mother has been canceled your highness's," he said walking towards us, oops I didn't know I was supposed to be attending those I thought it was just Leo "the two of you are over an hour late, and what with your sister birthday Her Majesty has a full day of appointments"   

"Was she angry?" Leo asked "Hanna and I have been with Louie and we've lost track of time" 

"I know that the two of you have been absenting yourselves from the palace, your mother suspects as much too but I've managed to convince her, for your sake that you wouldn't be so foolish, she of course could care less about what Hanna does with her time" 

"Thanks," I said rolling my eyes 

"Thank you," Leo said as well but he actually meant it 

"Her Majesty has worked hard to keep your image from the public," Daimler told Leo "I pray I am making myself understood" Leo and I didn't answer because we were distracted by someone laughing loudly, we looked around the corner to see a family, the blonde girl was eying Leo 

"Who are they?" Leo asked while I glared at the blonde, I wouldn't let her take Leo away from Beatrice, I was sure the girl would try 

"The children of Lord and Lady Yorke" Daimler replied 

"The girl looks like a bitch" I mumbled and Leo elbowed me in the ribs 

"They'll be attending your sister's birthday soiree tonight" Daimler informed us "of course you are not yet of age  but as I told Hanna, I took it upon myself to get the two of you permission to attend"

"What?"Leo asked looking a bit horrorstruck 

"I was once your age sir, I understand the needs of a young man" I scrunched up my nose at Daimler's words "if sir can't pursue recreation perhaps we could bring a little recreation to sir" I almost gagged, Daimler sounded so creepy saying that 

That evening I was bathed in warm water with rose oil, it had been a while since I had done that and it felt a little weird. My hair was made into its glossy curls. I was fitted into a very pretty dress and I decided to wear flats because Leo and I had a plan to escape and I could not run in heels. 

I felt like I was dying when the maids crushed my waist while putting on the corset, I hadn't worn one of those in many many weeks. 

I looked at my reflection in the mirror while the maids were putting my jewelry into place. Sure the dress was pretty and my hair looked glossy again but I liked myself better when I was in the cellar with B, Jess, Spike, and Billy. I'm sure Leo felt the same way. 

"Try to be nice to everyone," Leo said as we walked down the hallway "this is our debut and you don't want your reputation to be as the rude girl"

"I honestly don't care," I told him "once I'm of age the first thing I'm doing is leaving this place for good" 

"What do you mean?" he asked 

"I'm leaving the family" I responded simply 

"Are you that selfish, you know how miserable it will be if I'm here all alone" he sighed

"You can come with me," I said 

"I need this place in case I get hurt"

"but-"

"Uh, why do you two get to debut at 17 and I had to wait till I was 18," my sister asked smiling and walking towards us, everyone in the room was staring at Leo and me. 

"I suppose we are just not as lucky as you" I mumbled and she sent me a dirty look while Leo chuckled a little 

"Happy birthday sister" Leo gave her a kiss on the cheek 

"Happy Birthday" I gave her a small hug, I walked off leaving the two of them to chat. I did not like this environment at all, it was too proper. I took a drink and that's when the blonde girl came up to me.

"Hi I'm Charlotte," she said smiling 

"Nice to meet you" I grinned trying to be nice to her 

"Isn't this grand?" she asked looking around at everyone in their expensive outfits "your sister sure knows how to throw a soiree"

"That she does" I laughed taking a sip of my drink. I talked to the girl for a while longer, she was actually kinda nice but I wasn't going to get used to it as I would be heading back to the cellar. Suddenly the room went silent which was kinda odd. I didn't pay any attention to it until Charlotte tapped me on the shoulder

"What's going on?" I asked 

"Look" she turned me around and that's when I noticed everyone was looking at me, I looked up and my eyes landed on a familiar pair of blue eyes, Billy. "Who is that," she asked 

"That's Billy," I told her, how the hell had he gotten in here? did Leo or Daimler help. He was wearing a fancy pair of robes so I assumed that Leo must have been in on this. I walked over to him nervously because everyone's eyes were still on me

"Hi" Billy smiled 

"What are you doing here?" I asked, "how are you here?" he offered his arm which surprised me but I took it 

"Aren't you happy to see me?" he asked 

"Of course I am but why are you here? these parties aren't exactly your cup of tea" I laughed, he turned around to face me 

"I'm here because I realized something," he said 

"Ok and what did you realize" I hoped he hadn't realized that I liked him even though I made it pretty obvious this morning 

"You said that you couldn't tell me something because it would ruin friendships that you had made," Billy said "then you yelled at me because I told you that you didn't understand what it's like to-"

"Yeah I know what I said, please get to the point" 

"Ok, ok, so I was thinking about it and I realized that you were basically saying you like someone in our little group" he concluded, shit, 

"Oh, that's an interesting thing to think," I said not looking at him 

"But is it true?" he asked, I was saved from answering the question because music started to play, it was the dance I had been practicing 

"I-I have to dance," I told him walking to where everyone was gathered 

"I guess it's a good thing you taught me the dance then," he said, great, I wasn't getting out of this yet.

Welp there you have Soiree part one, I don't think that in real life Billy could have gotten in there but whatever. I wanted to put it all in one chapter but it would have been way too long lol.
