Unicorn was about to be eaten by Kaga's wolf, but her emotions got the better of her and what happened was what everyone least expected.

(Chapter 1 takes place during the first battle just after Unicorn gets...
Kaga's wolf was about to eat Unicorn, but red lines started to form on Unicorn's skin and flight decks. Everyone was puzzled at what was happening to Unicorn, she then got up to her knees and spoke.
Unicorn: YOU LEAVE MY FRIENDS ALONE!

As the last word left her mouth, the red lines began to widen. Her flight decks split across the center. Parts underneath split to form an X that had a red glow. Under the front and rear of the decks were trapezoid-like modules close to the center split. After a flash of red light, what rested above her shoulders were 2 twin-barreled cannons that looked to be 350mm, and 2 more facing behind her. After another flash of red light, she held in her right hand a flight deck, and a trapezoid-like module behind it, and with a cylindrical thing under it. Attached to the deck were a pistol grip and rifle stock. To the side of the trapezoid-like module were 2 boxes. 2 single-barrel cannons at the front end of the flight deck. On the front was a grip, attached to the side and at an angle of 45 degrees, for extra stability. And all across the side of her decks were smaller turrets that looked to be anti-air weapon emplacements.
She stood up, then started to levitate in the air like Kaga and Akagi. Everyone was feeling a mix of emotions, mainly fear and curiosity, at what happened. What remained dormant inside Unicorn for so long was now out for the world to see. Unicorn, the shy carrier now levitating in the air, about to fight Kaga and her beast. Unicorn was so focused on Kaga that she didn't realize that a mass-produced siren was aiming its guns at her. The ship fired its lasers, only for it to be blocked by Unicorn's left flight deck and dispersed in an out word's motion. Unicorn turned her head and one of her cannons towards the siren ship.
She charged the cannon and fired what looked to be a ball of energy from each barrel. When it made contact with the ship, it went strat though, destroying it. Those in its path found the same fate as the initial one. Those not directly in its path were still affected, as even being grazed with the beam would cause extreme damage, or worse, death.
Everyone stared in awe at what Unicorn's cannons just did. practically the entire siren vanguard was destroyed. No one knew what to do. And if the show of power was not enough, fighter craft were launched from the trapezoid-like modules. These fighter craft though were not of a traditional look, they had more of a human look to them. That is until the blue ones transformed to look more like a traditional fighter craft. The humanoid craft cared stuff in their hands, most of the girls thought that they were weapons and their shield, and they were correct. Once in range, the humanoid craft fired upon the siren fighter craft, not being shot down themselves as their mobility was much better. When the Azur lane forces have air supremacy, the humanoid craft started to focus on Akagi, Kaga, and the mass-production model of siren ships. Many mass-production models were destroyed in seconds, while the humanoid craft that focused on Akagi and Kaga were dealt with, but not before inflicting significant damage.
Kaga: WHAT IS GOING ON? WHAT ARE THESE THINGS?
Akagi: Kaga, we need to retreat! we can't handle this!
Kaga: of course dear sister, we need to report this to her as well.
When the two tried to run, they were cut off by the one and only, Enterprise. Akagi and Kaga were traped, that is until a red flash appeared behind them. Everyone looked at the flash to see Unicorn falling. All of the Humanoid craft disappeared with a red flash as well, giving Akagi and Kaga the chance to escape as Enterprise was distracted by the flashing light. When Akagi and Kaga were clear from the base, they announced their declaration of war, while panting.

Javelin was the one who caught Unicorn. Javelin was worried about her, seeing that Unicorn was unconscious. Quite a few girls came over to see what happened, the ones that didn't were helping with the cleanup and rescue of injured ships. It was clear that everyone wanted answers, but that would have to wait until Unicorn woke up.
