Breaking a cycle: Mono x Reader

Unexpected turn of events (part 2)

You gasp out looking confused only to find yourself on another staircase, except this time theirs a humming coming from the doorway behind you. "who said curiosity killed the cat?" you whisper to yourself jokingly.

You enter through the pink doorway finding yourself in another staircase much higher than before, you look over the edge, only being able to see more flying objects and heavy mist above all, it felt like you where high up in the clouds. You walk towards the next doorway the humming louder than before.

After entering the doorway and expecting more staircases you find yourself in a hallway with multiple doors, going near each one the humming becomes louder when you near the fourth door you go through it and find yourself in a long hallway "how can anyone travel around here this place is like a maze" you say to no one in particular, however after making the comment the humming stops, you feel yourself tense up at the sudden silence, having found the ominous humming almost comforting now the returning silence made the hallway feel like it was glaring at you, 'I need to get out of here' you think to yourself.

Traveling down the hallway you almost feel as if it is slowly turning, you started feeling a little lightheaded until you eventually find yourself facing a door, "huh?" you look up seeing a large keyhole on the door, studying the rest of the door.

It was your simple standard heavy door however the large eye on the top center made it stand out.

You step closer towards the door and stick your ear against it only hearing dead air come from the other side you deem it safe enough to go inside. Looking around the hall for a tool, you find a broken pipe on the ground, taking hold of it you drag it all the way back to the door. Taking a good position you swing at it, shards of wood fly all over you however you weren't really expecting to hear a large yelp from inside.

Taking a moment to think of what just happened and getting rid of all the goosebumps on your body, you let go of the pipe and pick through the little debris you had caused looking in at one of the small wholes the door had, you can see inside the room seeing it mostly empty but a large chair that stood fallen in the middle, when focusing more you could see a small figure hiding behind it. 'it can't be' you think to yourself. You step back grabbing the pole and kept taking swings at the door, with each blow debris flew past you in every direction, eventually taking a breather you notice the now large hole you had left on the door.

The figure or whatever was behind the chair wasn't there anymore, looking around all you could see were walls except for a broken TV that laid on its side against the wall. Noting off the tv you concluded that it was simply your mind playing tricks on you, after making a last check you make your way to walk out of the room when "OUCH!", you turned around quickly facing the tv, you cautiously walk towards it peeking inside you can see someone's feet.

"Hey nice feet" you chuckle out, the feet suddenly scooted back "hey, I mean no harm I only want to help" you say to the figure. You stood directly in front of the tv at them, you offer your hand out and the figure shakingly takes your hand, helping him out of the tv, he looks up at you "hi I'm ____" you say trying to give your most reassuring smile.

After a while of exploring for a exit with company you, you both find yourselves talking about random things, well it mostly was you doing all the talking. "so you never really told me your name" the boy looks back at you "Mono" he says quietly "well Mono we are gonna find a way to get out of here and then we can head to my shelter to get your hand fixed up, sounds good?" Mono simply nodded his head.

Eventually after a while you couldn't help but notice that mono was more silent than he usually was at the very least you couldn't hear the second pair of footsteps behind you, you turn around finding yourself completely alone, "Mono?" You ask the air you trace your steps back and find him in one of the rooms standing still.

You couldn't help but peek over his shoulder seeing a room full of toys but what held Mono's attention was but a broken music box which stood at the middle of the room, "Mono is everything ok?", Mono jumps back around staring at you, this was the first time you got a good look at his face.

You studies his face seeing how round and full it was yet it held sharp features but took the cake were Mono's eyes, they were black but his scleras were a deep grey, they looked like pure smoke.

"Yeah I found a exit, come on" Mono said forcibly, you got a little taken a back over by his attitude. Mono makes his way across the room jumping on top of a couple of boxes and eventually reaching the vent, you followed behind a little cautious, Mono held open the vent door looking at you, he notices your hesitation and takes a deep sigh "hey, um I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset ya.....I didn't mean to" you look over at him seeing how he shifted into a more sympathetic look, "don't worry about it" you reply stoping in front of him helping him hold the vent door open "ladies first" you jokingly say, Mono enters in and you can swear you heard him chuckle you enter behind him.
