Although, listening to Demilade, he can tell he was sincere about her. The guy sure knows how to get into someone's heart with his words. But he doesn't know how long it will last. And his daughter is his major concern.

"I know this will take a lot of time to believe and trust me. But I hope you can give me a chance to show how I truly feel about your daughter." Demilade said, convincingly, breaking the silence in the room.

The man raised his head and looked at him with that same scrutinizing eyes.

"I don't know what to say because I didn't even give my daughter a final reply. But how am I so sure you are not going to hurt my daughter?"

"I won't lie to you, sir. We can't predict the future but I promise I won't hurt her. Never. I was raised by two women and I would never hurt them or watch them get hurt because I care about them and love them and I feel the same way for Lola too."

The man gave him a funny look.

The man said after a while. "You are bold, sir." Commending him for being courageous enough to prove his feelings to him. Although the eagerness and fear were there it was almost impossible to see on his face.

"Demilade sir. And thanks for the compliment."

"Demilade." He finally called him by his name and he nodded. "If I were to say no, what will gain? I will just hurt my daughter and you can still both go behind me and do what you both want. Lola knows what is best for Lola. This is her choice and whatever comes out of it, she deals with it alone. If she wants you... then both of you should please yourself. But please don't hurt my daughter. It's a father plead."

He nodded vehemently." I won't sir. "

"Okay." He shakes his head rubbing his palms together.

Then Uche came in after hitting the door gently. Demilade and the man looked up at her.

"I'm sorry to disturb you sir but you are supposed to be on your way to your next meeting."

"Excuse me, sir." He politely said to Mr Bamidele who nodded urging him to do what he wanted. He then turned to his secretary. "I'm coming. Tell Taofeek to prepare the car. I will be down soon."

"Okay, sir." And she walked out of the room.

"Sir about the job.."

"I got a new job as a driver to supply cement. I will manage that one till I can find a better place. It was nice working with you Mr... I mean Demilade."

"Is there any way I can help you sir?" He asked.

"I'm fine. Thank you."

Demilade nodded and he watched the man stands up. Then he followed suit.

"I'm not speaking as Lola's father but as your former employee, I enjoyed working with you. Working with you did a lot of good for my family. It helps a lot. You were kind to me. Something most employers lack, so I am grateful."

"It is nothing, sir." He said meekly.

He was grateful for one thing. That he didn't wrong the man in the past.

"Okay. Have a nice day." The elderly man said and he went away after refusing Demilade's offer to walk him to the elevator.

Demilade exhaled deeply and closed his eyes thanking his stars that his meeting with Lola's father went well.

Then Dayo came to him with a file and his tablet in his hand.

"Sir."

Demilade opened his eyes and gave him a quizzical look.
