Demilade was scared shit with the man's silence. He had never dealt with his girlfriend's parents. Yimika's parents never liked him so he stayed away from them while he dated their daughter. He never met Angela's parents since she claimed they were in the village. And no other girl he hang out with was worth visiting her parents since it wasn't a serious relationship.

But now he was facing one. He was sitting with his girlfriend's father who once work for him. The girl he was serious about. The woman he loved but whose father happened to be his driver.

He didn't prepare for it at all. He would have been okay if he disagree or threaten to leave his daughter or any other thing aside from the silence. At least, he would have to know how to defend himself if he said something. But not with this deafening silence.

"Sir, I love Lola. I know we have not met for a long time. And we are still getting to know each other. But I feel something different for Lola. It's so weird for me right now to confess my feelings for your daughter but I have to do it because it is the truth and that is how I feel. I love your daughter and that is why I ask her out properly."

"But why her?" He finally asked narrowing his eyes at him. "There are other women in your class aside from my daughter."

Demilade swallowed hard and tried to be calm while he thought about his response. It was the first question he will be asking him about their relationship.

"I know that, sir. But I also don't know why it is her. I ask myself the same question when I started developing feelings for her. I ask myself that question every day but it is stupid because we both know that we can't tell the heart who to love. I had only known Lola for just two months and we were not the best of friends at the beginning but sir, your daughter makes me feel different. I feel something different for her. We are so different but I love her for who she is. I don't care.

"I really don't care about who she is or who are family are, I love her for who she is. The thirty days contract relationship is like a blessing to me because I met Lola because of it. You have been my driver for more than three years now and I believe you know about my relationship life. I don't hook up with different women or have multiple girlfriends because I am rich. I was trained better than that. So I see something different in Lola that makes me feel different about her and want her to be my girlfriend. I don't expect you to trust me immediately sir but I want you to give me a chance to prove to you that my feelings for your daughter are sincere. I want you to know that I feel something big for your daughter. I love your daughter."

He stared at him for a long while. He has never sat to talk with his boss for a long time like this. He had not even heard him talk with so many emotions before except on a few cases when he is talking with his mother. Most of the conversations that he listened to were with his clients or friends and those he used often were the ones he had grown used to hearing.

Not the tone he had used to talk about his daughter.

Then he said what was on his mind.

"I don't know. I don't know what to say or think about all this." The man said shaking his head slightly.

He wasn't sure about all this. He was scared for his daughter and also care about her. He can't decide how this relationship will end. And he doesn't want to see his daughter get hurt.

But this is the first time she was talking about anything relationship with him. He knew she have boyfriends in the past but she was not dumb enough to talk to him about it.

He can never allow teen dating. It was stupid and childish to him.

But his daughter was grown up. She has a right to make her own decisions. She has always made a good decision that he can remember but he wasn't sure about this one. This one seems like walking on eggshells. She was putting a lot of trust in this. Even if it seems too early and irrational to him.
