I have for years

Since 5th grade

You took my breath away each time I laid eyes on you

It was so easy to fall for you as easy as breathing

My heart lost its shit when you were around me

Each time you smiled at me or looked at me

Because I have never met anyone like you

we weren't that close but just from our brief time as friends who shared snacks and comic books under the trees

But...

I knew I wanted you by my side to hold your hand and brave the world with you

What I'm trying to say is

I really like you

I tried to push you away because I thought you didn't see me as I saw you

And having you just as a friend wasn't an option because you don't want to kiss your friends each time you see them

What I'm trying to say is that I'm a big idiot who is asking for another chance

To see that gummy smile every day to make you laugh at dumb jokes to share melon popsicles and read comics

After I ran out of posters I see him with a small smile on his face with tears in his eyes I smile up he moves away from the window my heart is racing I hear the door open and I walk over to the driveway where he runs into my arms I catch him and hold him close he is wearing grey sweatpants and a grey hoodie to match he buries his face in my neck I smile and hold his waist as he wrapped his arms around my neck he smells like daisies.

"So is that a yes?" I whispered I hear him laugh.

"You're crazy," he said I held him closer
