Their classes ended early today. Taehyun looked at Beomgyu's seat but it's already empty. He noticed Kai is also gone.

He feels odd. Beomgyu said to him earlier that he will accompany him but Taehyun can't find him.

He tried calling Beomgyu's phone number but it's unattended.

Taehyun tried going around the school until he reached the fourth floor. All of the classrooms are now empty except the last room where he saw Kai and Beomgyu talking about something serious.

He didn't interupt. He want to see first how will things go.

"Beom, i've been keeping a secret to you. I broke our promise of not keeping a secret between us." Kai said.

He's expecting two outcomes from their talk.

The common one will be Beomgyu rejecting him but they will still remain friends.

But the worst scenario will be Beomgyu completely avoid him.

He's probably overthinking when he thought the second outcome but it's better to prepare himself than being caught off guard.

"It's fine. To be honest, me too." Kai looked at Beomgyu. "I... i broke your console before! I-i'm sorry Kai"

Beomgyu bowed infront of him. Kai just sigh.

Talking about seriousness and yet here we are. he thought.

"I...i already know that. Don't worry, it's already fixed" he heard Beomgyu exhaled.

"Thank goodness. So... what is this secret you're talking about?" Beomgyu asked.

Kai is hesitating to speak. But he know he needs to tell him now.

"I..." Kai took a deep breath before continuing his sentence. "...i like- no. I love you, Beom. Since middle school, i've been keeping this because i'm afraid i'll lose you."

Beomgyu felt a pain in his chest. Kai is important to him. He's the first person who approached him during middle school when he felt the whole world turned their back against him.

He don't know what to say. He can't find any right words to say.

He knows he can't accept Kai's feelings because he only see him as his best friend and as a younger brother.

He don't want to hurt Kai but anything he will say will still hurt him.

"Kai... i... i'm so-" but Kai suddenly pulled him. Beomgyu's eyes widen but he quickly avoided Kai's gaze.

Please... look at me. Kai said in his mind, trying to hold back his tears.

There's this dangerous thought running in his mind. He's desperate but he knows well that doing that will only put everything at worst.

Taehyun clenched his fist. He's about to barge in when Beomgyu pushed Kai.

"I'm really sorry Kai. I... i can't." Beomgyu said. Taehyun remained on his position, hiding behind the door.

"It's Taehyun, right?" hearing Taehyun's name, Beomgyu once again felt a pain in his chest.

"Y-yes..."

"Are... are you dating him already?"

Beomgyu can't answer him. Because he don't know what to say. He, himself, aren't sure if they're already dating.

They only confessed but Taehyun didn't asked him yet those question.

Just telling Taehyun what he felt, and one kiss doesn't confirm anything.

"I don't know..." Beomgyu weakly said.

Hearing what Beomgyu said, Taehyun felt like someone stabbed him in his chest. He can't afford to hear any words that Beomgyu will say next, it hurts him.

So Taehyun decided to leave but he was surprised when Beomgyu said, "B-but i still want to spend my whole life with him. I won't give up on him"

Taehyun sighs in relief. He left with a smile on his lips.

Kai smiled.

Kai now know why he lost this fight. Unlike Beomgyu, he gave up on his feelings. He decided to keep everything inside than telling him the truth.

I'm a coward.

"That's good to hear. As your best friend, i'll support your decision." he said, causing Beomgyu to look at him, surprised.

He made a decision.

He will support Beomgyu but he still won't give up. Not now that he already told him what he really felt about him.

"Best friend?"

Beomgyu nods and gives Kai a smile. "Best friend"

"Alright, enough drama. I know Taehyun is waiting for you outside. You two are going somewhere, right?" Kai said to him.

Beomgyu nods so he takes his bag and walks towards the door, but before he completely leave the room, he waved at Kai with a big smile.

After Beomgyu left, Kai turns to look at the window as a tear fell on his cheeks.

"I knew it. No matter how prepared you are, being rejected is as hurtful as hell" Kai said as he let out a deep sigh.

One wrong move Taehyun, and i'll take Beomgyu from you.

No matter what it takes, i'll make sure to get him back.
