"Because we would like to inform you that your house on 22nd street has been burned down to pieces last night, we got the call at 11:50 and we were already too late" One of the officers said
"What the hell, are you serious my own house been burnt to the ground" Kari said fake gasping while shaking his head
"Yes I'm sorry to inform you, but we just wanted to come to ask if you may know who would've done something of this sort. Is someone after you. Did you have a problem with any of your people?"
"How the fuck would I know, don't come and try to interrogate me on shit ion even know about. Now go do your job" Kari said before slamming the door in the cop's face
Making me gasp as he walked into the kitchen. "Kari you ain't have to slam the door in that man face" I said laughing while grabbing a big plate to set a cooked pancake on
"Ion give a fuck. Bitch ass talking about your people. Fuck ass cops" he said while rubbing his stomach and walking toward me
"Racist as hell. You opening the parlor today or what" I said while flipping the pancake that was cooking now on the other side
"Yea, I'm gon see how it's going down there then, I'm going to take care of some business. Niggas blowing up my phone from last night n shit" he said smirking while looking at me
"Why you looking at me for. You had a choice to stay or go and you made your choice sir" I said laughing while looking at him
"Kay you know damn while I ain't have no choice. You deadass forced me. I felt so violated"
"Byeee. You ain't say stop. move around" I said laughing cause he really is something
"Nahh I'm playing. Happy I got some. Now you ain't never going no fucking where" he said walking behind me rubbing my side while I flipped the pancake

"Hell nah" he said stealing a pancake while walking into the living room dabbing up Khalil as I finished up making enough pancakes for all of us
"Khalil the food ready. Ion know how many you want" I asked him as he walked into the kitchen
"I got it. Thank you" he said grabbing a plate before walking over to the pile of pancakes
"Let me go wake up Imani" I said walking into the living room
"You going to your building today?" Kari asked as I was walking up the stairs
"Yeah Zai said they moving and rebuilding fast as hell so I'm going to see. Probably gon bring Imani with" I said
"Oh yeah, Khalil and I got some business to take care of today anyway" he said looking back at khalil who looked confused
"What I did" he said looking at us
I shrugged while looking back at Kari waiting for him to answer. "Basketball practice starts today for the fall season and you trying out" he said
"Damn I forgot about that. Ion even feel like playing this year" Khalil said
"I don't care what you don't feel like doing. You playing. You always been cold as fuck on the court and since all this shit been happening you don't feel motivated to do play" Kari said
"Damn ion got a choice"
"Hell nah"
Laughing I walked up the stairs to Imani's room where she was still sleeping. Grabbing an outfit out of her closet I walked into the bathroom starting the tub as I waited for it to fill up so I can put some bubbles in there.
