I was looking at the face mask placed on my lap, I gave a long sigh probably because I was a bit nervous for today. We weren't heading to war like the others but still, our job here is very important, I was relieved to hear that we didn't have to worry about the orbital weapon but that doesn't stop me from thinking about the rest. There is no telling who might survive to live another day but this is what we signed for.
"Geht es dir gut? (Are you alright?)" The unknown German speaker caught my attention. I looked up and saw the man in charge of our team, Kal Reegar, waving at me

"Didn't know you knew how to speak German," I smirked at him as I watched him take a seat right next to me
"I was born in Germany, that is why I can speak it," He said before yawning. It was surprising to hear that he is German
"Which part?" I asked him
"Berlin," He said
"When I was assigned to your team I was told you are the strongest of the wolves, worthy of being the second in command. Where did you train? I don't think I've seen you among the Germans ranks," I said and he chuckled
"Military service runs in the family, I was planning on joining when I turn eighteen but when I apply and when I trained with them I couldn't make it because I was unable to hit a target. That would explain why you never saw me around," He said. I was shocked to hear that.
We continued talking, getting to know each other. Turns out we had a lot of things in common, both of our parents were "Nerds" as he likes to refer to them but it was kinda sad to hear that died while he was still at high school. It is kinda weird, you know, Zero's first encounter with the wolves was with Kal and he described him as a monster being capable of reacting fast enough to stop a bullet with his hands.
