"Dad just hear me out. It's not that way. I like Demilade and that is why I am here. That's why I am telling you. He is not playing me nor am I blinded by his money. I like him for who he is. Not because of what he has. Please, believe me, daddy." She pleaded.
"I'm not in support of that relationship. You better end things with him because I am going to work tomorrow."
"Daddy... Please..."
He didn't bother listening to her as he stood up and went to his room. And she covers her face to let the tears fall.

rs Jolaoluwa stands in front of her son's room. She knew he was awake and probably already dress for work. She had seen him went into the gym room earlier that morning and it is almost an hour and a half since he left the gym room which is enough time for him to read and take his bath and then prepare for work.
She had managed to wait until that time to speak with him again before he leave for work. It is not her intention to make him angry before he leaves for work but she had to do it. She had to talk to him even if it means to get on his bad side which might affect some innocent others later in the day.
She still had to do it.
Bayo had tried but he wasn't able to convince him to listen. His grandmother had decided to leave him for a while to calm his storm before approaching him again. She is the only one left who could try talking to him.
She knocked on the room door and she heard him asking whoever was at the door to come in. And she did.
"Mom." He exclaimed when he saw his mother. He left his half-buttoned shirt and he went to greet her, prostrating. "Good morning mommy."
"Good morning my dear." She answered and she gave him a small smile.
She pulled him to face her gently. "How was your night dear?" She asked as she helped him finish buttoning his shirt and she stared at his body frame, looking so proud of how he looked in the fitted blue shirt. She can't remember the last time she helps him button his shirt. Her son was now a grown man. She thought.
"Okay. Mom, didn't you sleep last night?" He asked as he narrowed his eyes watching her face, even if he already knows the answer. Her face was swollen and there were bags under her eyes. She looked a bit drained and exhausted. She doesn't look like she sleeps at all. And it hurt him.
"I couldn't sleep." She told him honestly.
"Don't tell me it is about that man again?" He asked. "That man has brought nothing but pain and heartbreak. Why can't you just let it go?"
"I have let him go." She said firmly.
It was the truth. It was hard to forget the man who was the father of her son and whom she had loved for a long time. But she had done that. His presence again just brought back the bad memories and all those failed promises.
"I don't believe that. You don't have to lie to me. Look at you now. You have been moody all through the vacation and now. How do you expect me to believe that? What has the asshole got that no other man had?" He asked, bitterly.
"Nothing. Nothing." She repeated. Something that has taken her years to realize. "Absolutely nothing. I'm looking at the future, not the past."
"Then why are you letting him come back to our life?! You have me. You have grandma and they are countless men out there who know your worth. He does not deserve any more of your time." He said trying to put his anger in check.
He was okay with her dating other men and even getting married. As long as she is happy. Not holding onto something that is long gone and never worth it.
"I'm not giving him my time. He doesn't worth it. I have wasted enough years waiting for him. But not anymore. But the fact remains that he is your father..." He tried cutting her off but she raised a hand to stop him. She is always gentle with him but when she needs to be hard, she could, no matter how old or how big he was. "He is your father even if it takes him thirty years to realize it and accept it. Although he doesn't deserve our second chance, but we have to give him. You are a better man than him. So let's just hear him out." She tried to convince him.
"I can't do that mom. I'm sorry." He replied and he began to walk away but she held him back.
"Oluwademilade Darlington. My son, I understand you. I understand why you despise your father. But you won't gain anything from it. For my sake... For your mom's sake please let hear him out. He wants to see us. We should give him a chance knowing he doesn't deserve it but that we are better than him. "
"I will think about it, mom." He said and he went to pick up his waistcoat.
That were the only words he could say to get his mother off his back. He can't keep going back and forth with her unless he won't leaves for work that day.
He had been away from work for some time and he need to arrive early at work. And a particular someone won't be the reason why he had to argue with his mom for two consecutive days and for him to run late for work. He thought as he put on his waistcoat and then his matching suit jacket.
"Give me time to think about it mom." He told her when he realized she was still watching him.
She just stared at him. There were traces of doubt on her face but she decided not to push it further. She will give him the time if that is what he wants. Lawrence, his father will wait for as long as his son wanted. Since he had spent thirty years to realize and accept him as his son and come back for him. He will have to wait for his son to accept him too as a father.
She just hope it wasn't before his death.
