"No cursing!" Grandma Karen rebukes, slapping my arm like she did dad's.

My dad pulls me from grandpa Ken and hugs me again. "Congratulations!" He says, and my mom pulls me from him.

"My turn." She explains, squeezing me. "Congrats, honey."

"Thank you, but I'm not a toy. Stop with the hugs." I pull away from her and stand at least two feet from all of them.

Auden looks at me expectantly, his eyes big and round. "What about me?"

I squint my eyes at him, "Aw you want a hug, four eyes?" I question, holding my hands out. That's his new nicknames ever since he got his glasses. Don't worry, he knows I'm joking. I've already given him my long speech on how good he looks in them, just to boost up his ego enough to come out of his room. The first day he got him he ran upstairs and wouldn't come out. I knocked on his door and forced him to listen to my long speech about how all the girls love a man with glasses. Yeah, I'm a good sister like that.

He walks closer and I shove him away by his chest. "Nope." Let's not forget I am his sister. I got to tease him, it's mandatory.

He huffs but chuckles afterwards as if it's all a joke. No. I'm serious. No more fucking hugs. Holy fucking moly. Another reason I should've stayed home.

"How about we go to dinner?" My dad asks, hanging his arm around my shoulders. I guess his arm around my shoulder is fine... but it's going to get old fast so he better quit soon. "I have to leave early tomorrow morning though, so we have to make it quick so I can sleep."

God, it's fucking 5:30, how much sleep does he need?

My dad's new book, it's a short stories book, has sold over five hundred copies already. That's huge for only being published two months ago.

He's meeting grandpa Vance in Pullman, Washington where they are going to start their book tour. He'll be gone for six weeks.

My mom, brother, and I are going to fly to Pullman on Saturday, two days from now, and we are going to spend that six weeks with Grandma Kim in her house because dad isn't comfortable with us here without him.

We would leave with dad but grandma Karen and grandpa Ken are staying with us until Saturday so they can see uncle Landon and Aunt Nora. Addy was supposed to come into town too, but not until next month. She is at the point in her pregnancy that she isn't allowed to fly, or some shit like that. She has to wait until the baby is born. That's what she told me a few days ago when she called me.

I personally think it'll be harder to fly with a baby than it would be if you are still pregnant. Then again, she could go into labor on the plane. That would fucking suck.

Anyways, we are leaving to go back with Grandpa Ken and Grandma Karen. I can't fucking wait because now that I know I got into WSU I can check out the campus and shit. Not that there's anything to really judge about the place. I'm going there whether it's nice or not.

"Emery?" Grandpa Ken waves his hand in front of my face and that's when I realize they are all staring at me.

"What?" I questions dazed. I had no idea I was staring off into space.

"Wouldn't that be nice? If I gave you a tour of the campus when we're up there?"

"Yeah, that sounds cool." I shrug my shoulders, and he wraps his arm around my shoulders. So dad removes his arm and Grandpa Ken replaces it. Fucking great.

Everyone begins to walk and Grandpa Ken begins to explain to me what the campus looks like.

By the time we are to the car he has given me a full imaginary picture of the dorms and I'm kind of excited.
