Hi, guys! I'm going to start off by saying that this is all my work. If I use a song, it will be in a YouTube video at the beginning of the part or (if there are multiple) there will be a list at the beginning of the chapter, directly under the title.

Updates:

- If I don't post for a couple weeks, I'm in school and haven't taken the time to write

- You will learn that, when I post, I post two or three chapters at a time. With that being said, one chapter may be about 1,100 words while another will be nearing 6,000 or so.

- If you read this story and see an error (grammar, spelling, a character with the wrong name, etc.), please make a comment on it and it will be fixed as soon as I see it/when I get the time to correct it.

- Please note that I am not a professional and I am not being paid to write/publish. I am doing this because I am a hopeless romantic who can't seem to find a boyfriend. Writing is also an escape from reality for me, so please don't be rude.

- I will take constructive criticism anytime, but don't go overboard.

Characters:

- Lucianna James: a 19 year old girl, who was the girl-next-door growing up. She was raised in church and had her entire town wrapped around her finger. Anna had everything she could ever want or need growing up and thought her family was as perfect as it felt, but that was not the case. (The bomb is dropped pretty quick and you cannot miss it because it is quite dramatic) At college, Anna loses her composure and does all the things she had wanted to do back home, but thought her mother would be disappointed. She stops caring about what people think of her and begins dressing how she has always wanted. One night while she's out clubbing, Anna falls into a tall man with deep black hair, beautiful brown eyes, and smooth caramel skin, she is unable to forget the way he saw who she really is and spoke to her like an equal.

- Christian Parker: A 22 year old man, who grew up without the luxury that Anna had. He was the only interracial guy in a small, southern town where it was only acceptable to be mainly one race. If you were in-between, they looked down upon you. Christian's father ran off and left his mother alone. Now that he is grown, Christian lives with the luxury and power he dreamt of as a young boy. His mentor, Peter, took him under his wing immediately and is a major benefactor to who Christian is now. When Christian runs into a beautiful girl with honey blond hair, striking blue eyes, and an enticing smile, he is immediately taken by her and cannot get her off his mind.

- Valerie James: Anna's mother. Not a Child Protective Services agent. Caring, kind-hearted, loving, motherly, young, beautiful, dangerous, strict, resourceful, brave, well-kept, welcoming, and smart.

- Peter James: Anna's father. Not a lawyer working in London. Smart, quick, caring, young, dangerous, private, understanding, short-tempered (with people he doesn't like/trust), easy-going, and laid-back.

- Scott Hastings: Anna's best friend. Not into girls, but doesn't care about rude comments from people who know nothing about him or his personality. Fashionable, loving, comedic, smart, short-tempered, truthful, blunt, understanding, dramatic, easy-going, happy-go-lucky, petty, handsome, and reliable.

- Meghan O'Neill: A gorgeous girl with light brown hair, green eyes, and perfectly tanned skin. Anna's other best friend. President of Pheta Pi Mu. Genius, caring, petty, kind, simple minded, organized, controlling, natural leader, neutral, and respectful.

- Niesha Parker: Christian's mother. A hairdresser in Darien, Georgia. Niesha is a kind lady with a big heart. She is driven, smart, understanding, motherly, youthful, bold, blunt, gracious, warm, enchanting, inviting, welcoming, polite, well-kept, graceful, charming, loyal, resourceful, considerate, sweet, and brave.

Details:

- If you want to "cast" a different person for the characters, I am totally fine with that because I understand that we all interpret things differently.

- When a character is introduced, there will be a picture at the top of the chapter. (the pictures will be in the order from above)

- If there is terminology used that you don't understand or don't want to see, let me know and I will try to remove it all from the book.

- Because this is a question I would ask, Christian is mixed (African American and Caucasian). If I decide to do a flashback, he may be called insults (which would be southern terminology) and if he is and it makes you uncomfortable, I will have a warning at the beginning of the chapter and before the flashback. (the warning will look like this: **SENSITIVE CONTENT** and will be followed by and explanation; for example, insulting names and violence)

- Please do not be afraid to tell me if I have made a mistake of any kind.

- I am going to apologize in advance because I will most likely put something in the story that is offensive to some, but try and remember that I do not condone the behavior of my characters, I just try to make the story relatable to all readers. Also, this story is complete fiction and none of these events happened. Some of the situations can be related to the conflict in our country today, but I hope to be able to get y'all to feel some emotion from this story.

Thank you, JKH
