Most of us, no, almost all of us have come across this. That worry about the future that constantly looms over you like an ever-growing shadow? Yep, all of us might have felt it at least one point in our lives.
But you know what? It's perfectly normal and very common to feel that way, truth is that most of us have no idea what "the next step" will look like and that's totally fine. The second I graduated high school, I wasn't thinking about college or university 24/7 (though I did apply early and reviewed schools all year), I barely know what job I want! But it's okay not to have everything figured out by graduation, we're still so young! If a gap year is what you need, then take it! Early summer program? Moving out early to get to know the area/campus? Don't be too hard on yourself for not having a mapped out plan for your future, go at your own pace. Remember:
- Never stop learning
- Your intelligence is not measured by grades
- It's okay to make new friends and lose old friends
- Don't feel obligated to be in a relationship
- You still have time to figure yourself out
- It's okay to ask for help
