I Found Peace With You (Anniversary Special)

By the time Levi finishes, there's no hope for Erwin. Tears are rolling down his cheeks faster than he can wipe them away. You watch as Mike reaches across, taking Erwin's hand and squeezing it gently to ground him as Hange starts.

"Every time I write these, they come out far too cheesy and I find myself rambling on forever because I feel that I need to use every word in the world to describe my love for the five of you. So I will try and keep this as brief as possible. I vow to love you in all your forms, now and forever, with the same passion I have since we met. I promise that I'll never forget this once-in-a-lifetime love. That no matter what challenges the future holds for us, or how many more kids we decide to adopt, I will never leave your sides, for I know how lucky I am to find myself there."

You almost match Erwin as Mike starts his vows. He lets your hand go briefly to take out a small piece of paper from his pocket and bend down, setting it on the floor at his feet. There are only three words written on the paper. 'I love you'.

"I, Mike Zacharias, take you, Hange Zoe, Erwin Smith, Levi Ackermann, and (Y/N), to be my life, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish always. I have been, and always will be, there for you. I have lived every day as if it was our last, loved you more in case it was the last time I would be able to, and yet, each time, I find myself in awe of you. Your bravery, intelligence, stubbornness, and heart never ceases to take my breath away, even in the darkest moments. I offer myself to you in hopes that you will do the same."

With a shaky breath, you wipe your face. Stealing yourself so that you could manage your vows before you broke. You felt the room's attention on you, racking your nerves as you searched your mind for the first line of your vows.

"I promise - I promise to respect, admire and cherish you for who you are, as well as the people you wish to become. No matter how many times you pass out at your desk, or blow up your lab on accident - or on purpose. I promise to fight by your side, to provide support and protect you when you need me. I promise to always strive to meet your needs, not out of obligation, but because it delights me to see you happy. I promise that no matter how hard you push me, I will always be there for you when you need me. Whenever you need me."

You pause to take a shaky breath before continuing, trying to stop the tears that had begun to leak down your cheeks again.

"I promise to share your goals and ambitions; to hold you through misfortune, and celebrate triumphs by your side. I promise to always keep our lives exciting, adventurous, and full of passion, that our lives will never have a moment of boredom or monotony, even if it's just a new recipe for dinner or an unexpected surprise. I promise to always be compassionate and to remember that we do not always have to be the strong leaders our jobs require us to be. We are a team, since cadets and until death. I promise to show you, every day, just how lucky I am to have you in my life."

As you finish your vows, Erwin a complete wreck as he tries to calm down and wipe his face with a tissue that Levi had handed him, the minister speaks again.

"May I ask, whoever has the rings to step forwards," he says, scanning the audience.

You watch as Reiner scrambles up to the minister, holding a small box that contained the five rings. He held the box high for the minister, a big, beaming smile on his face as Nanaba gave him a thumbs-up from where she stood as Mike's Grooms-woman.
"Thank you, son," the minister says, taking the ring box and opening it.

"Bless, O Gods The Giving of these rings that they who wear them, may live in your peace and favour all the days of their life; through Ymir our Lady. Amen.

As you place this ring on your partner's finger I ask that you repeat these words."

"This ring is my sacred gift to you. A symbol of my love. A sign that from this day forward and always, my love will surround you. With this ring, I wed thee."

Your breath holds in your chest as Levi clips the necklace of the ring around your neck once more. You didn't have a left hand to wear it on, and it didn't feel right to wear it on your right, so over your heart is where it would stay.

Carefully, you picked up the ring from the box and slid it onto Hange's finger, tracing over the engravings gently as you held their warm hand in yours.

"For as much as Hange Zoe, Erwin Smith, Levi Ackermann, (Y/N), and Mike Zacharias have consented together in holy matrimony and have witnessed the same before the Gods and those present, and have pledged their faithfulness, each to the other, and have declared their love by giving and receiving rings, I now, by the authority committed unto me as a minister and a priest, declare that Erwin Smith, Hange Zoe, (Y/N), Levi Ackermann, and Mike Zacharias are spouses according to the ordinance of the Gods, in the name of the Mother, and the Daughter, and of the Holy Spirit. Those whom the Gods have joined together, let no one put asunder."

"May the peace and unconditional love of the Gods surround you and remain with you now and forevermore. Amen."

"You may seal your vows with a kiss," he says, taking a step back to allow Mike and Erwin to close the circle.

It's an awkward kiss, one meant purely for the public eye. All five of you bent together as people cheer, the cheering increasing as you separate into pairs. Mike dipping you low before passing you over to Hange and Levi, and finally Erwin.

"Allow me to present the newly wedded polycule," the minister chuckles, the crowd standing up and their congratulations growing louder.
