Arms wrapped around each other, Knife and Paintbrush slowly stepped in sync around the dim room. Paintbrush looked down at Knife with the sweetest smile as they spun a little. Knife smiled back at them, chuckling sheepishly. Beneath that tough, jerkish exterior, he would always melt in their arms.
The song was soft and slow, filling them both with calmness and warmth that felt like it could last a lifetime. Standing chest-to-chest in that synchronized step, their hearts touched and became one as well.
Knife lifted his hand and held Paintbrush's cheek, bringing them in for a small kiss. As the song ended, he sang the last lyric in their ear, in a sweet, little whisper.
"You're my rockstar."
