"Listen to me very well", Beomgyu said with tearful, but raging eyes as he started waving his index finger between their faces, his intense gaze drilling holes into the older's also angry orbs while his hand gripped the handle of the knife tightly and another one rubbed his aching stomach, "You don't know shit about me and what I had to go through in life. I saved your ass and be grateful for it. I'm not obliged to explain anything to you and you have no right either to throw questions at me. I just met you yesterday and you're no one to me", he announced, throwing the photograph on the ground and Yeonjun watched how it floated in the air before gently landing on the ground.
A bitter chuckle crossed his lips as he stared back at the boy with an unknown gaze and Beomgyu couldn't say if he was angry at him or not any longer. He just wanted to say goodbye to him and storm out of the room and then the house right away, but something forced him to stay in his place, his vexed eyes watching the yellow-haired male as he kept maintaining eye contact with the younger. His bloodshot hazel orbs shone under the beam of the sun rays and even the air felt thick around them as heavy tension brooded upon the air. Yeonjun had no idea what to say, for the first time in his life he was standing there, his tongue feeling too heavy to even move as helpless anger slowly started to stop simmering in him. He couldn't even feel that his fist was clenched and all his pain was absorbed by the misery of his soul.
"I don't know who you are", Yeonjun stated in a calmer and hoarse voice as he set his knife on the desk and Beomgyu perked up his ears immediately after he was pulled out of his momentary trance, "But something is telling me that you weren't sent to me for no reason. There is something which connects us with the invisible bond"
Beomgyu didn't want to admit that fact, but it was the only possible explanation for the current situation. He wished he didn't let the stranger man leave so easily the day before and got every answer from him instead, but that man didn't even look like he was going to say anything to him anyways. For some reason, it seemed like he wanted him and Yeonjun to meet because there was something hidden behind the two of them, something which was connecting them even though neither of them liked the idea of it. And those weird feelings Beomgyu was experiencing when he was around that boy, had to be the proof that there was the possibility that they had met before too, but Beomgyu couldn't say where.
"Do you know anything about the project X?", Yeonjun suddenly asked, snapping the younger out of his thoughts as he tried to look for the clue which would explain the weird events that had been taking place, but his hopes got crashed when Beomgyu shook his head while biting his bottom lip subconsciously.
"I don't. What are you talking about?"
"Okay. What can you tell me about your father?"
A hint of irritation started to appear in the younger's body at the mention of his dad, "There's nothing much about him. He was an ordinary person. I had only him in my life, but he had leukaemia and died early. I had to grow up in the orphanage, what about you? Maybe we have met there?"
Yeonjun shook his head immediately, knowing that was impossible since he had grown up in his own house with his parents, "No. My parents were murdered only two years ago. They were the ones who brought me up", he stated, reminding the boy what he already said minutes ago and earning a curious glance from him as he licked his dry lips.
"Why were they murdered?"
His question changed Yeonjun's expression and his tense facial muscles loosened at once. He trailed his gaze onto the floor and turned away from the boy, taking steady and slow steps towards the window from which the sunlight was peeking through the room. It landed upon the boy's face as soon as he stood under its beam, and Beomgyu didn't know why his heart skipped a beat at the enhancing sight of his ethereal face, "Because of the project. Namjoon did it... and maybe even he is with him too", he spoke the last part in a barely audible tone which grabbed the younger's attention the most.
Beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows as he narrowed his eyes and threw a sharper gaze at the boy, who was glancing out of the window with saddened, wistful orbs, "He? Who are you talking about? Or why was that project so important?"
"Because it could give him a huge power, he would be able to play with the life wilfully with his own rules", he answered dolefully, dodging his other questions.
Beomgyu nodded his head in understanding even though Yeonjun wouldn't be able to see his non-verbal response, getting more and more curious about the matter. What if it was exactly where they were supposed to be searching for clues?
"Okay, but what? What was the project about?"
Yeonjun fell into silence for a moment, his eyes sharpening as he stared at the road aimlessly, memories and different thoughts playing in his mind before he replied in a steady tone, "Time Machine"
