Jake
11:15am

Jake had arrived at the airport after a long Uber drive that he mostly just spent listening to music and dozing off for a few minutes.

His flight was at 12:30, so he had a little over an hour to eat and get ready for his flight. He kind of wished he had accepted his moms meal for the last time, but he knew it would've just made it harder to leave.

He walked into one of the food courts in the airport and ended up buying a large pastry with cream on the top. He wanted to treat himself one last time before he might be forced to diet while training.

He got his food after waiting about 15 minutes for it. The airport was packed full of people, so of course everyone wanted food as well. He expected the wait though, which is one of the reasons he wanted to get here early.

Jake had a notorious reputation for sleeping in, why can't his stupid brain just wake up from an alarm like everyone else!? He normally had to either wake up naturally and accept the fact that he would always be late, or someone else had to try to wake him up. Sadly enough, his family all left before he woke up in the morning, so he normally just had to skip his first 1 or 2 periods of school.

Once he got his food, he walked over to his gate and sat down putting one AirPod in while he ate and waited for his flight to start boarding. It felt like he was sitting there forever on his phone before suddenly the speakers came on with a voice saying "flight 127 Brisbane to Seoul now boarding."

After standing in line to get on the plane, he showed the lady his ticket and walked through the hallway to enter the plane. He sat down in his seat and luckily no one was next to him yet, so he took the chance to take the window seat.

Jake had never been on a flight by himself, so he was pretty nervous. He put his carry-ons at his feet for now before putting in an airpod once again and turning on music.

After finally settling in for his 8 hour flight, the flight attendant told everyone to put their seatbelts on as the plane would take off soon. Jake was pretty happy because some how he ended up with no one else sitting next to him.

When the plane took off and they were told everyone could take off their seatbelts, Jake got out his little pillow that his parents bought for him and decided to take a nap.

Jake was a pretty deep sleeper, so when he finally woke up he saw that the sky was getting a little darker. Looking out above the clouds during sunset was so beautiful, he almost didn't notice that his music had stopped.

It was pretty cold on the plane, but he tried not to cover up because he knew he would have to get used to the colder weather in Korea. Luckily for him, it was summer in Korea so it would be too bad yet.

For the rest of the flight, he mostly just looked out the window watching as the sky slowly got darker. He had always loved being outside whether he was playing soccer with his friends or sitting alone looking at the sky.

The flight attendant eventually told everybody to put their seatbelt back on, and the plane landed. This was the part Jake always absolutely hated, because it made his ears burn. Normally this happens to people their first few flights, but for Jake it just never went away.

He was one of the last people to get off of the plane because he didn't want to be rushed. Once he walked out of the gate, he was greeted with another huge airport.

He was right in the middle of one of the biggest cities in South Korea, Seoul. He had been here once before as a child but he hadn't been back since. The only Korean he knew was the basic phrases that his mom taught him to get him through for a few days. She also said that there would be lots of English signs and English speakers if he got confused so it didn't worry him too much.

The global audition was held on Sunday, and it was now Friday. It was around 8:15pm by the time he got to his hotel and he mostly just wanted to sleep from being on the plane all day, but he thought he should get out and enjoy the city. Seoul was an hour behind Brisbane, so it would be 9:15 for his family.

After telling his mother that he arrived safely, he changed into some different clothes and decided to walk around the city a little bit just to get settled.

The first thing he noticed was the busy streets surrounded by tall buildings. There were lots of bright lights lighting up the town which he just couldn't get enough of looking at.

One thing that made him sad though was the sky. In Korea, the sky was gloomy and gray. He was going to miss being able to lay down and try to find shapes of clouds in the blue sky.

Once he got a feel for the area around where he was staying, he decided it would be best to go back to his hotel since it was getting pretty late.

When he got back, he fished out his room key and flopped down on his bed passing out before he could even change into comfortable clothes.
