You gently opened your eyes and glanced at the clock on your dresser. 12 AM flashed in bright red on the face of the clock.

Your arm searched around the bed for your boyfriend but his spot on the bed was empty. You sat up slowly rubbing your eyes.

You heard small sniffles coming from the bathroom so you got up and sleepily walked towards the sound.

"Kei? Are you alright?" You asked your voice a bit dazed and still sleepy. He jumped in surprise, turning towards you with his head down. "Hey, look at me." You placed your hand on his cheek and raised his face to look at you. He leaned into your gentle touch, tears still falling down his cheeks.

"I'm sorry I woke you up." He said softly. It was almost out of character for him to be so soft and vulnerable, yet for you this was normal. The soft and fragile side he was hesitant to show to others, he showed to you.

"It's alright Kei. What's wrong?" You brushed your thumb over his cheek, gently wiping away a tear.

"I had another one of those dreams." He said quietly. You knew what he was talking about. Those dreams where everyone he loved left him and he was alone. He didn't want to be alone and certainly didn't want to be without you. "I-I don't want to be alone-"

"Look at me baby." His eyes made contact with yours as you gently placed a kiss on his lips. "I'm here okay? I won't leave you no matter what happens. I'm your girl and nothing can change that. Alright?" You gently kissed him again and he pulled you closer to him.

"Can we...cuddle...please?" He asked quietly wiping his face.

"Kei you don't have to ask." You chuckled softly causing him to smile. You grabbed his hand and walked back into the room. You layed down and motioned for him to lay on you. He crawled between your legs, and placed his head on your chest and wrapping his arms around your waist.

"Can you sing the song?" He asked quietly.

"Sure." You ran your fingers through his hair and he sighed.

"Time is an illusion that helps things make sense
So we're always living in the present tense"

Kei started to relax, his grip loosening as he could finally feel himself be able to breathe again.

"It seems unforgiving when a good thing ends
But you and I will always be back then"

Your voice was soft and soothing as you kept running your hand through his hair.

"Singing will happen, happening happens.
Will happen, happening, happen,
Will happen
Again, and again."

He closed his eyes falling asleep with his arms around you, loving the warmth your body radiated. It was small times like this that made him feel loved and cared for.

"You and I will always be back then."

Realizing that he'd fallen asleep you smiled and kissed his head. "Good night Kei. I love you more than anything."
