Chapter Twenty-Four

Start from the beginning

What is your favourite color?

Keygan was clueless about what to ask therefore the he typed the first thing that appeared in his mind.

He thought she would ignore it. He even thought she wouldn't bother to answer the question when a sudden rough screech reached his ears. His phone was glided towards him and he didn't expect a answer there.

She wrote black.

Black was her favourite color. Why wasn't he surprised?

The phone was skidded towards her again, this time with the question of her lucky number.

She gave his phone back.

4.

Many questions returned after answers, such as her favourite food, drink, subject, word, and some types of question which brought a tug on her lips.

Keygan had his own side he had a hard time discovering. He was going slow around her yet it was fun to spend silent moments with her.

He wasn't being himself. Usually he disliked being patient around people. It just confused him.

He disliked to deal with unresponsive people, especially the ones who failed to maintain a proper eye contact. He liked to be professional, fast and perfect. Unlike this situation where he needed to be soft, patient, slow and gentle.

Anything that wasn't him, he was around her.

The last thing he gave her was a nine lettered word.

Goodnight.

She didn't reply.

But the contented feeling he felt when he realized he was the reason for the smile to grow on her lips was fucking wondrous.

He just couldn't stop smiling.

"Finally." Vidyashree pretended to wipe a imaginary sweat from her forehead and stretched, her arms forcing an uneven V shape.

Before her laid the twelve lemon blueberry cupcakes she spent twenty minutes to make them look perfect. Each cupcake had a bead of blueberry on top of the swirl of blue and white frosting.

"I'm proud." Vidyashree patted Keyara's shoulder. A grin appeared on the taller girl's face. "You finally learnt how to put frosting. Good job, Keyara!"

Something as common as that, could make Keyara's adrenaline pump in excitement. She maintained a straight face through the rushing hapiness that someone was proud, because of her.

"Can you please sit with me today?" Vidyashree pouted, slapping her palms together. Her face fell when Keyara shook her head. "Oh, come on, just one day. Please don't say no."

Keyara glanced at Vidyashree with one long look, the gears spinning in her mind. After the longest minute passed, Keyara sighed and gave in.

It wouldn't hurt just to sit with her once, Keyara hoped.

Vidyashree squealed. "Yes, finally!"

She knew Vidyashree had two friends whom she never has met before, but she never expexted a group of five to be waiting for her.

"Hey- Oh my God, she agreed!"

If Keyara wasn't mistaken, that girl, Aubrey, was the same person who entered her room to greet her. Thanks to her, Keyara was able to find that spot on the rooftop.

She immediately came up to Keyara. "Hey, I'm Aubrey but you already know my name. Here here, sit sit."

Aubrey dragged a chair out.
