"Okay." He nodded.

"It's your father." She deadpans.

Demilade face contoured into a deep frown. He had dreaded this answer. He had hoped whatever it was won't be about Lawrence Ninalowo, his so-called father. But it had turned out to be him after all.

"Which father? I don't remember having a father." He answered.

"Demilade!" She exclaimed. She frowned with her glassy eyes.

Demilade stood up with his hand fisted.

"Is he the reason why you are worried? Is he the reason why you're denying yourself happiness? Is he why you are crying? You know this is why I hate him so much."

That was one of the reasons he hated him so much. The tears he let his mother shed. The tears he caused her together with the pain. After all those years, he still has a way to get into his mother's heart and hurting her. His name or presence never brings anything good.

"Ade.."

"Look what he has caused. Uh.. Look at you. Because of him. Why the hell does the bastard have to come back? We were fine without him. Why did he bring his bad luck back into our lives? Uh?" He asked almost in a yell.

"Demilade stop it. He is your father."

"He is not my father." He retorted. "He has never been and will never be." He growled. And he watched tears roll down his mother's face which fuel his anger more knowing the major cause of it was the person he despise.

And at that moment his grandmother walked in. She have a perfect idea about what was going on. They did not have to tell her to know. Nothing will ever make her daughter so sad and have a sad tearful face except two people - Demilade, her son and Lawrence Ninalowo, the father of her child.

"Grandma, you know about this right?" He asked immediately after he sighted her. "So you suggested a vacation because of this? To make me happy and then throw the bombshell at me."

"Demmy...."

"But now, I know. Do I look the slightest happy to you?" He asked with a scowl, angry. The old woman could see that familiar flame of anger and hatred burning inside her grandson. She expected it and nothing less. She knew how much he hate the man.

But they had to deal with him. She was grateful that Tiwalola had left to see her family. So they could settle their family problem even if she knew it won't happen any time soon. Demilade can be a devil when he is angry. They usually dread his anger.

"Do you know why I hate him so much grams?" He pointed to his mother who was still weeping with her face swollen from crying. "This. This is the reason why I hate that man. He is nothing but heartache. A mistake."

"Demilade." His mother called. He just looked away, angrily.

"Demilade." His grandmother called calmly. He didn't answer her but paced around the room. "I'm talking to you, Oluwademilade Darlington." She called him by his full name and he stopped on his track to face his grandmother.

"Why is he even back? Why? Why is he back?" He asked with a scowl. His mother looked from him to her mother.

Mrs. Grace went closer to her grandson. She begin to say his eulogies as she usually does when he was still little and when she felt so proud of him. He loves hearing it. And it always brings a smile to his face. It always made him feel big and proud when she start reciting his eulogies. At a point in time, he could recite half of it off-hand. But at that moment, he wasn't pleased to hear it. He wasn't even smiling. And that was more reason Mrs Grace knows that it was going to be hard than she thought.
