He prostrated to greet them and then peck each of them on the cheeks.

"Good morning." They replied.

"Going somewhere?" His grandmother asked looking at his clothes.

He nodded. "Yes, I have some business to do with Bayo at the boat club and a meeting afterwards."

His grandmother shakes her head. "I thought there was no business while on vacation."

He shrugged. "This isn't work-related grams. And it's not so far from here. "

"But you call it business. And I don't know that business is part of vacation now." Grandma Grace said sarcastically.

Demilade heaved a sigh. "Grams, it is important. Next time if you don't want me to work while on vacation, then the Caribbean will be the best idea."

"Maybe that is what we will do the next time. I already love the idea. I've heard a lot about the place." His grandmother said with enthusiasm.

He trusts his grandmother to be excited about trips like that. Travelling and exploring had always been her hobby.

"Like he can't take his jet and leave." His mother said quietly to herself but he heard and that made him smile. "Something seems different about you son. You look very happy this morning." She was looking at him with studious eyes. His grandmother did the same when she said the words.

"C'mon mom, who said I wasn't always happy?" He asked rhetorically.

"She is right. Something seems different about you." His grandmother said.

"Isn't it good?" He asked to avoid any further discussion with them about his mood. Then he stood up. The women can be so inquisitive. They don't need to know about his personal affairs. He was no longer a kid.

His mother was about to ask another question when Helen came out of their room with her baby in hand.

"Good morning, ma." She greeted the two women bending slightly.

"Oko mi, good morning." The women chorused. [My dear].

She turned to Demilade who was checking something on his phone.

"Good morning Demmy."

He looked up from his phone and then replied. "Morning Helen." He put his phone inside his pocket and leaned forward to carry Joan. "Hey Jo, how are you?"

"Fine." She drawled while others smiled down at the adorable kid.

He nodded. "That's good." He peered up at Helen. "Where is the big head?"

"And that big head is supposed to be my husband?" She asked but her voice was laced with humour. And she tried suppressing a smile. Demilade just rolled his eyes with a small smile playing on his lips.

"So you are calling me big head?" Bayo questioned as he came into the living room before he smacked Demilade on the arm.

"Who else would it be?"

"You no well." Was his reply. He looked at his wristwatch. "We have to go now." Demilade nodded and he gave the girl back to her mother. They both said goodbye to the women and they left.

Helen left her daughter with the woman to prepare her water for a bath. When she had left the sitting room, Mrs Grace said. "Something is odd about your son."

"Hmm. He looks happy and satisfied to me. But you can never tell what is going on in his head. Ade can be so unpredictable." Mrs Jolaoluwa replied to her mother. "But mommy, when do you plan on telling Demmy about his father?"
