"Daddy Catch me I'm falling" I giggle as I jump off the edge of the couch like a superhero knowing daddy's always going to catch me. I could hear daddy laughing saying "I'm coming to my little superhero", I close my eyes and just feel the air all around me until that cool air was replaced with the warm gentle calloused hands of my daddy. Knowing he's always going to be there to protect me no matter what. I open my eyes and give my daddy the biggest smile I ever." you caught me daddy", I say. "I always will catch you, princess, no matter what."

"Dad I'm heading out so don't wait up for me ok?", I yelled out expecting to hear my dad fumbling around in his room like he does every morning, this morning I heard nothing, absolute silence. I stood still and just listening expecting to hear something that gave me the indication that he was downstairs or asleep but there wasn't a sound, it was quiet to quiet. Going to knock on his door hoping he just asleep calling out his name "dad are you in there", no response. I try again "dad stop playing around are you in there", he couldn't be asleep because I would hear him snoring. I'll just assume he went out already which is weird because dad never leaves without telling me goodbye and that he loved me.

Shrugging off the eerie feeling that just made its grimy way throughout my body. I continued walking down the stairs towards the kitchen to grab a small snack on my way to school. Walking into the kitchen expecting to see a note from dad but there was nothing there, absolutely nothing. I was starting to get nervous about where my dad was but instead pushing that fear aside and just hoping he
rushed into town for something until I stepped on something, only to look down and see it was a knife that had blood on it, looking around for the source of the blood, seeing a puddle of blood and something written in a brownish-red substance, this red substance that now covered our checkered floors that my dad and I worked so hard on putting down.

Slowly walking closer to this puddle of blood Intaking a deep shaky breath and holding my breath. Slowly, I walked one step, two steps, three steps. All to see the weird writing on the floor beside this pile of blood on the checkered floor that my dad and I worked so hard to put down.

I couldn't make out what it could have possibly meant before the realization hit. This was my father's blood.
Slipping on the Remanence of blood that I failed to notice before that pooled around my shoes, falling into the endless puddle of the blood of my father, I could feel my eyes widening, I could feel my body tense up. My father's blood felt so slimy and sticky it reeked of such a strong metallic smell. Feeling the droplet that slashed on my face after the fall sliding down my cheek brought me back to reality. Gathering whatever strength I had in me I began Crawling out of this puddle out of THE puddle that my father once was in. Throwing myself into the cabinet opposite the puddle.

Feeling my heart beating erratically within my chest, the feeling of my throat closing up became very evident, the feeling of my father's blood sticking to my body, the feeling of my world turning upside down. I could feel everything in this one moment. The world felt as if it was closing up on me I couldn't breathe. My dad once drilled into my head how to stop a panic attack how to remain calm in stressful situations, but does this even compare. Nothing in my mind was processing other than the sticky feeling of my father's blood coating my skin like a second layer. I could feel my eyes growing heavier and heavier, the world getting darker and darker. Just as my eyes were on the brink of closing I looked up to see a black figure standing over me, watching me with those bright red eyes. Those red eyes stared into my soul making it feel as if time was slowing down. I could only see so little due to my eyes being partially closed, but I knew that whatever was standing over me wasn't good.

At this very moment, I accepted that I was going to die feeling the panic began to set in, tears began to well up in my eyes, the need to scream for my dad began welling up within my throat, knowing he wouldn't come. where was my protector when I needed him, he said he would always protect me no

Just a measly "dad." was ass I could croak out of my ever closing throat. My eyes never fully closing as if this creature wanted me to watch, so I did. I watched as this creature began to bend down closer, and closer, creaking ever so slightly with each movement. The creature so close I could smell my own portrayed death. Trying to move, trying to struggle but nothing moved it was as if I was compelled by this unknown force, this creature was keeping me here. The smell of blood and the feeling of hate and bloodlust rang throughout the room. The feeling of my father's blood was more evident than ever, I could practically feel bloodlust rolling off this creature in waves it was so strong that I shivered as the feeling of its hot burning breathe touched my skin.

The feeling of my eyes growing heavier by the second took hold of me, fighting to keep my eyes open because I felt that if u did close my eyes that you be the end. I wasn't ready for the end.

But deep down I knew that I couldn't stop this from happening so I was ready to accept whatever fate had in store for me at this very moment, but little did I know that wasn't what fate had in store for me it was something much crueler.

laying there against that cabinet waiting for death to walk up to my front steps, listening for the sounds of the footsteps counting down to my death ready for that knock at my door, there stood a hooded figure standing looking at me, giving me hope that this wasn't how my story would end. My eyes that I was fighting so hard to keep open finally gave out on me. Closing. Hearing the sounds of death approaching with each step.

Or so I thought.
