Chapter 11:Scars

VICTORIA'S POV

I wake up from the pain I can feel on my wrist. I hear Danny shouting and crying in his sleep. A nightmare has made him hold me harder and I try not to shout from the pain. I have to wake him up.

- Danny WAKE UP

-No Don't go. No please don't leave me for him. I'm begging you

- Danny,Danny!

-Not Josh

DANNY'S POV

I see Victoria. She is running to her car. I try to catch her . I manage to grab her wrist. I see Josh waiting for her in the car. I can't let her go. She is mine not Josh's. She tries so hard to release her hand and she does. I see her running far from me.

END OF DANNY'S POV

- No no you can't leave me you love me right? -Danny continues in his sleep

- Wake up – I make a move to release my wrist.

- Victoria no – He wakes up in a shock.

- Danny are you alright? - He looks at me with tears and fear.

- Victoria don't leave me please. - He hugs me

- Danny it's ok it was just a nightmare I'm here – He hasn't woken up properly yet.

- Please.... -

- I won't leave you I promise. You can go to sleep now it's 4 am

He goes back to sleep.

I can't help but imagine what he was dreaming of and I was in it. I was in my best friend's nightmare.

I can't sleep anymore and head to the bathroom. While I am washing my face I notice a small box with my name on it. I open it up.

A toothbrush and........are these my pj?

My teddy bear? Suddenly I hear a voice.

- You forgot them the last time you came for a sleep over, and Danny insisted on keeping them. - Said Miss Grace.

- But the last time was -

- Yeah ,four years ago

- Why didn't Danny gave them to me? -

- Whenever he is having a nightmare he takes your teddy bear and hugs it while he sleeps.

- Why didn't he took it today?

- Today he had a nightmare again? I thought they stopped two weeks ago .

- What? Has he told you about those nightmares? What are they about?

- I will leave you clean yourself and then you can come in the kitchen and we can talk.

- O..ok thank you miss Grace.

I finish change into my clothes and go in the kitchen.

- Have a seat sweetheart – she says

- Thank you.

- So Danny has been seeing the same nightmare for over a month.

- What is happening in the nightmare. Has he told you?

- He mentioned something about a truth or dare and some guy named Josh. - I lower my face. Here I am hurting him again.

- Yeah......, it's a really long story......

- Well we have a really long time so you can tell me.

And I told her everything. About the truth or dare, how I blocked his number and ignored his messages. About me kissing Josh while Danny was at his lunch date , about Danny kissing Ashley and how I tried to prank him on the phone and his reaction. EVERYTHING.

- Oh Victoria I think Danny's nightmares started when you distance yourself from him.

- oh my God – I say slowly

- I also believe he is in love with you.

- Yeah....He kind of told me?

- And?

- I..love him too -

- Then why aren't you a couple yet?

- I Can't date him because....I know we will brake up

- How would you know if you haven't even tried?
