The group soon met back up for the funeral. Alora showed them to rooms where they could change from their black clothing to white outfits. Kryptonian tradition was to wear white at formal events including funerals. This was fascinating to Ray and Nate but they decided not to comment on it. Once dressed, Sara handed out some of the waveriders translator pills. This way everyone would be able to understand the kryptonian language spoken at the ceremony. The heroes filed out of Alura's home and followed her and Clark to the place where Kara's coffin would be shot into space (I know so little about the comics and so this may completely wrong, sorry) They stared at the floating pod like coffin that held their friend and a new wave of sorrow washed over the group. Jul-Us, a member of the high council on Argo began the ceremony, there was a lot of talk about the Kryptonian gods. Winn recognized a little from when Kara had to deal with that cult, but this was the real tradition of krypton not a human warp of their religion. Winn listened as Jul-Us spoke from Kryptonian religious text and found himself wishing he'd asked Kara more about her Kryptonian ways, instead of just doing the earth holidays and traditions with her. The heroes of earth one were intrigued by the different culture but of course their curiosity was dampened by the circumstances. Kara looked like them and so they never really considered just how different she was. Jul-Us stopped talking and stepped aside as a brunette stepped forward.

"I am Thara Ak-Var." She said and Alex, Clark, and Winn immediately remembered Kara telling them about her. "Kara Zor-El, was my closest friend as a child. I lost my whole family when krypton exploded and since we saw Kara's pod get knocked off course, I assumed my best friend was gone as well. Finding her alive was a miracle. I never expected to lose her again." Thara paused, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Kara was always pouring over her books and I remember all the nights we'd climb up onto our houses roofs and stare at the stars. She'd list off all the things she'd learnt that day and I never minded a bit, she was brilliant and kind and the best of us. She never left my side, well unless her aunt and uncle needed help with Kal." Thara smiled at Clark who blushed slightly at her comment. "Although Kara doesn't visit often, I just didn't think the last time we saw each other would be the last time. I wish I could climb onto the roof and catch up with her but-" Thara hung her head. "She's gone. Gone, but never forgotten." Thara finished, walking over to her husband who gave her a supportive hug before she knelt down and lifted her daughter into her arms while wiping tears away. Alura stepped up and cleared her throat, her eyes already watering.

"I sent my daughter away with a mission, a mission to protect Kal-El." Alura smiled at her nephew sadly. "Even if she arrived late she heeded my words. I wish so much that I could hug my daughter, see her smile and hear of more of her adventures just one last time..." Alura paused, staring at the hovering coffin before her. "I said goodbye before, doing it again is the last thing I imagined," The pain was clear in her voice and Sara looked over at a silently crying Alex with concern, while Alura found the strength to continue. "I miss her dearly but she saved lives, protected her cousin, made many alien friends." Alura gestured to the crowd of earth heroes. "I couldn't be prouder. I-" Alura stopped, tears running down her cheeks. "I love you my daughter." Alura gave a heartbreaking smile in the direction of the coffin and then walked off to Clark who embraced his aunt as she cried. Alex looked around, it was her turn, her turn to speak but her feet didn't want to move. Sara pushed towards the remaining Danvers sister and pulled her into a hug.

"You don't have to go up there if you don't want to." Sara whispered into Alex's ear before pulling out of the hug and wiping a tear from Alex's cheek with her thumb.
