But she was answering with just a sentence and not just that something was off about her.

"Are you okay?" He asked with a brow quirked up, peering at her. She smiled and nodded.

No answer and question. Not the usual Lola. Something is wrong. He thoughts. He seems to be thinking about her response and the way she was acting.

Lola couldn't tell what was going on in Demilade mind but she knew he will search for his phone soon and what was she going to tell him that she was doing with his phone? It would seem she was checking on his privacy. What she doesn't want is another unnecessary argument between them. They have been on a peaceful, cheerful term for some days now. And she wants it to be that way till they leave in the next three days.

She stylishly stood up and walked back to where the drawer is with the phone hidden behind her back. Then Demilade followed her movements with his eyes and their eyes locked for a while before she broke the contact and looked away.

Demilade could sense something was off with Lola. He gazed down at her and one of her hands was hidden behind her back. Then he looked up. The corner of his lips quirk.

"What are you hiding?" He asked. Her eyes grew wide in shock before they quickly disappeared turning back to normal.

She shrugged then she answered. "I'm not hiding anything."

"I bet you are." He said still looking at her.

"I'm serious. I'm not hiding anything." She said boldly.

Demilade moved closer to her and she stood in shock watching as he approached her. Then he stood in her front. Lola sucked in her lower lips thinking she was doomed. Demilade will definitely get angry.

"I'm not going to bite you. What are you hiding?" He asked. He did not sound angry or upset. His voice was calm and a bit amused. "Just bring it out."

She contemplated on doing as he said or just keep on denying she was not hiding anything. He moved closer. Too close in fact staring at her face and he tilted his head sideway.

She was trapped between him and the front of the drawer beside the bed. Half a step forward would cause an immediate collision, sending her nose straight into his chest; half a step back and she'd hit the drawer and toss the lamp and any other content on the drawer on the floor.

She was about to drop the phone in the drawer when his hand moved around her waist to her back. She dropped the phone in his hand. She didn't protest or hesitate because all she could think of was their proximity and the smell of him that was invading her thoughts. And he took the phone withdrawing his hand back to his front.

He just stared at the phone. He didn't seem surprised. He turned the phone around looking at it.

"You are not angry." She forced the words out of her mouth when he was quiet.

"Why should I? I'm not hiding anything in it. And I knew that was what you were hiding." He answered and dropped the phone back on the drawer at her back still standing at her front.

He turned back to face her. He didn't move an inch from where he had been standing. And he gazed down at her. Looking at her like there was something so fascinating on her face.

She could have moved to the side but she was struck by the proximity of everything he was, her senses subdued by this staggering rush of adrenaline, his stare made her flutter from her curls to her toes.

She stood staring at him and then her eyes moved down to his light shirt that hugged tightly to his large upper body frame which does no justice to hide his biceps and the structure of his chest. Her heart beat frantically in her chest for a reason unknown to her. And she involuntary sucked in her lower lips.
