The coffee's scent sifted through the thick air. It's soft mellow tangy scent reached his nosed. He took it in.

He sat by the window as usual, staring contently at the busy street and people. It was nine o'clock, everybody was still waking them selves, delving their flesh into coffee.

Of course, he thought, he didn't need coffee to be awakened. He just needed to see her.

And as if the world had been good at timing things out, she walked through the newly painted oak door, causing the little bell at the top of the door frame to tune out simple jingles.

There she was. His blood felt as if it had clotted, his pupils dilating as he traced her path towards him, his newspaper mockingly in front of him, waiting to be read. Every single day, was like this.

As she sat on the cushioned seat, she piled her books atop the table, her cup of coffee already beside it, steaming and ready to caffeinate her veins.

And of course, they continued about their business as if the other wasn't there.

It was like that, for as long as they could remember. Everyday, they both grew curious of each other. Wondering what would happen if they spoke to one another.

But what would happen if the cup of coffee lost its balance and tumbled upon the book she had borrowed?

What would happen if at the same time, their finger tips touched to reach for the paper napkins lying on center of the table?

What would happen if both melted deeply in the inside just by staring at the other's stunning eyes, after grasping for the paper napkins?

What would happen if fate actually let them take a sip of reality?

Well. Reality actually let them have a sip.

And it wasn't bitter at all.
