It's been about 2 days since you confronted Tamaki about the bet. Those 2 days felt like an eternity and after some thinking, you decided to start things over with him. You loved him after all, and you knew that Tamaki genuinely loved you. You two have been together for months now and not once did it feel like he was being dishonest or forced to be with you. It took such a long time for him to be comfortable enough to show affection and the trust between the two of you was unmatched. When you reminisced on your relationship, you were reminded of every wonderful moment you shared and there was no way you were just going to leave him after this one argument.
When classes were over for the day, you waited for Tamaki outside of his classroom, but he wasn't with his friends when they left. A bit worried, you walked up to Mirio who was talking with Nejire.
"Uh hey ... do you know where Tamaki is? I need to talk to him," You asked as you approached the duo. Mirio looked at you with a mix of sadness and guilt and hesitated a moment before answering.
"He's probably in the dorms ... he hasn't left his room in a few days," Mirio said with concern. Worry for his best friend was all you were able to see on his usually cheery expression and your heart sank at his answer.
"Really? Is he ... okay?" You asked softly. It was a dumb question, but you had to ask it anyway. Hearing that he hasn't left his room since you last spoke to him filled you with guilt and worry.
"Honestly ... no. Listen, I'm sorry about the bet. I was just trying to help him out, you know? He really does love you ..." Mirio apologized sincerely and you let out a sigh. Mirio would never hurt someone ... especially not someone he really cares about.
"Thanks ... I appreciate you telling me that," Looking up at Mirio, a small smile played on your lips, "I'm gonna talk to him," turning around, you left the school building and went to your dorm to change clothes before you made your way to Tamaki's room. You were nervous as you made it to his door but you had to see him. Yes, what he did hurt you, but you were afraid you hurt him even more by shutting him out when you knew he needed you. Knowing Tamaki, he started to overthink everything and most likely had either a panic attack or an anxiety attack. You started to feel very regretful at the thought of him having to suffer alone and you knew that you had to make it up to him.
Taking a deep breath, you knocked on the door but didn't hear anything. You waited a few more seconds before turning the knob and entering the room. It was dark inside, but you could make out Tamaki's body from under the covers. Oh, baby ... your heart ached as you closed the door behind you and slowly approached him, carefully sitting on the edge of the bed.
"...Go away, Mirio ... please," Tamaki's voice was strained and hoarse. He sounded as though he'd been crying nonstop for days ...
"It's not Mirio," You corrected him softly and he tensed up. Tamaki pulled the covers down just far enough for his eyes to peek through. Because it was dark, you couldn't see them very well, but something told you they were red and puffy from crying.
"Bunny! W-what are you doing here?" He sat up in bed and you reached over to turn on the lamp by his bed. A dim yellow glow coated the room and now that you were able to see him a little more clearly, you noticed how disheveled he looked. His soft, round cheeks were a bit sunken and his skin looked dull. Dark violet hair was unkempt and you wanted to smooth it out so bad.
"Well, I was waiting for you after class, but Mirio said you haven't left your room in a while, so I got worried ..." You explained softly as you lightly reached up and touched his cheek. His lower lip began to quiver and he took a shaky breath.
"I-I'm so sorry!" Tamaki's voice cracked as he started to cry fresh tears. The sight of him in such distress broke your heart.
"Shh, I'm here," pulling him into your embrace caused him to cry even harder, but you didn't dare pull away from him, "Listen to me ... I'm not leaving you. Not ever. I was thinking about us a lot and I realized that the bet wasn't necessarily a bad thing," You started to explain and his sobs quieted down. His hands gripped your sweater tightly and he buried his face in the hollow of your neck.
