"I was preparing for the possibility yeah" Jotaro told me. My heart was beating out of my chest and I felt like my fight or flight response was triggering, but in a good way.

"Oh" I said looking at his garden. His garden felt nice and tranquil but looking at it didn't calm my racing heart.

"Did you like it?" he asked.

"What?" I asked.

"Did you like the kiss?" he asked. My face turned even more red.

"It-it was okay" I stammered not looking at him. He put his hand on mine and I looked at him. He grabbed my face gently and pressed his forehead on mine. Was he going to kiss me again? He took the cigarette out of his mouth and smiled at me. He definitely was going to kiss me again. He rubbed my cheek with the pad of his thumb seemingly admiring my face. I started breathing heavily.

"Does your chest hurt?" he asked looking down at my torso.

"No, not really" I answered.

"Then why are you breathing like that? I can hear your heart beating" he said looking in my eyes.

"I'm just scared" I whispered looking away from him.

"You're so cute" he smiled chuckling. Did Jotaro just call me cute? My mind went blank, I just watched as he laughed softly to himself. I huffed, who does he think he is? He goes from being friendly with me to completely ignoring me to hugging me in the hospital and being protective over me to ignoring me again then immediately kissing me to ignoring me again to kissing me and then ignoring me again... to calling me... cute?

"What's wrong?" he asked clenching his jaw. And now he has the nerve to seem mad?

"You, you need to make up your mind and stop toying with my emotions. Do you want to ignore me or not? Do you like me or not? Do you want me to be my friend or not?" I asked angrily looking at him. That seemed to make him even madder.

"What do you think?" he shouted angrily. I saw something come from out of his house but I decided to ignore it.

"I think you don't even know what you want to do" I said raising my voice slightly.

"What do you mean by that?" he said scrunching his face up. I saw his family peak from out of one of the doors watching us.

"Uh Jotaro, your family can hear us" I said lowly looking away.

"I don't care" he scoffed.

"Dinner's ready boys" Mrs. Kujo called. Jotaro got up leaving me in the garden.

"Jojo listen I didn't mean it like that it's just-" I started following him.

"It's whatever, I don't care. You do whatever you want to do and I'll do the same" Jotaro said running his hands through his hair. He walked out of room and I followed him from a good distance away.

"Dinner looks amazing Mrs. Kujo" I said.

"Holly was always an amazing cook, just like her mother" Jotaro's grandfather said.

"I'm sorry I don't I've properly introduced myself, I'm Noriaki Kakyoin" I said.

"I'm Joseph Joestar, This is my friend Avdol, and our family friend Polnareff" he said pointing to the brown skinned man in big gold jewelry and then to the pale silver haired man with broken heart shaped earrings.

We started eating dinner as Mr. Joestar was talking about how he meet his wife.

"But you see she didn't know how much of a stud I was until I took the breathing apparatus off" he said elbowing Avdol in the side.

"I still wonder what happened to Caesar though. We had something together but I haven't seen him since we got in to that fight" his grandfather said eating his pasta sadly.

"What do you mean had something together? Don't tell me you two were delinquents together" Avdol said.

"What? No, I meant was in love with Caesar" Joseph said chewing smugly. Jotaro, who seemed to not be listening and was quiet the entire dinner, bit his fork so hard it broke. We all looked at him and he seemed to be in pain but his jaw didn't unclench from the broken fork. His mother reached up to the fork and pulled it out as his hold on it seemed to loosen. She looked at his mouth and he was bleeding.

"Jotaro honey be careful, you hurt the roof of your mouth" she said.

"I'm fine" Jotaro said getting up while holding his mouth.

We continued eating awkwardly while Jotaro's seat remained empty his food almost finished. I imagined he was waiting for the bleeding to stop before returning. Once everyone had finished eating and putting our plates in the sink I stayed behind and helped Mrs. Kujo rinse the dishes before she put them in the washer.

"Oh no Kakyoin you don't have to help, really you're our guest" she said.

"It's fine Mrs. Kujo it's the least I can do after you made such an amazing meal" I said.

"Well, thank you" she smiled.

"Kakyoin... what were you and Jotaro arguing about earlier?" his mother asked my face went blank.

"Oh it was nothing really" I smiled.

"Well I hope you two boys work it out you both seem really happy together. And when you got hit last week I could tell Jotaro was really worried about you. Even before then when you weren't at school he was worried" she said.

I didn't know how to respond so I just nodded. Once we finished Mrs. Kujo went to Jotaro's room for a few minutes. As I prepared to leave she came down the stairs and looked out of the window.

"Oh dear the sidewalk has flooded" Mrs Kujo said.

I looked out the window as well and the water had gotten up calf high on the sidewalks. Luckily the houses on our street were all raised a few yards from the sidewalk. It had been raining since I made it to Jotaro's house although it gradually gotten heavier. I'd hardly noticed it'd rained this much since when we were in the garden we were under the roof and the garden wasn't flooding. I sighed and fixed my hat preparing to walk out.

"Kakyoin honey I can't allow you to walk home with that much water outside. With your ribs healing you can easily catch pneumonia and even if you just catch a cold it'll be painful to get over" she said seeming concerned.

"Bull shit I'll carry him over myself if I have to" Jotaro said scrunching his face up and looking away.

"Don't be ridiculous Jotaro, he can spend the night here with you" she said.

"Mrs. Kujo it's fine really I'll be fine a little water never hurt anyone" I said nervously.

"Nonsense give me your home phone I'll dial your mother right now" she said. I reluctantly gave her the number unrealistically hoping my mother would ask for me to come home immediately.

"Hello is this the Kakyoin residence?" Mrs. Kujo asked.

"Yes, this is Mrs. Kakyoin speaking" my mother said.

"Hi, I'm Mrs. Kujo, I have Kakyoin over here and I was wondering if it'd be okay for him to spend the night over here? You see the streets are up to the knees in water. It's too unsafe to drive in that and I would hate for him to catch some kind of cold trying to get home especially with his healing ribs" his mother said sweetly. I already knew my mother's answer just from the way Mrs. Kujo worded herself.

"You're Jotaro's mother, oh your son is so kindhearted to Noriaki I'm so glad he finally has a friend" my mother said.

"We're not friends" Jotaro and I said in unison. We looked at each before glaring and looking away.

"Its so kind of you to offer your hospitality. Of course Noriaki can stay over, this would be his first sleepover you know. He's quite shy around people his age" my mother said.

"Oh really?" Mrs. Kujo asked leaning on the wall. I slowly walked away. I could tell they were about to have a long embarrassing conversation about us.
