"Lan Zhan, you're not coming?"

For Wei Wuxian, he didn't expect to ask him the question. After his resurrection, Lan Wangji was the one who always stood by his side. He didn't have plans, didn't have home, just wanted to fulfill Mo Xuanyu's wishes. After everything was settled, he just wanted to travel around the world, leaving the burdens behind. He was expecting Lan Wangji would come with him.

As for Lan Wangji, he had a lot of thinking ever since they left the Guanyin Temple. Moreover, after watching Wen Ning and Sizhui said their farewell to him, and mostly, for the man who was standing behind him. He wanted to protect him and the persons who were important to him. And he knew the way to do that.

Lan Wangji turned around and approached Wei Wuxian who was still standing next to Little Apple, waiting for his answer.

"Wei Ying, where are you going?"

Wei Wuxian blinked several times. There was a distant memory of Lan Wangji asked the same question to him, maybe on his first life. Hazy images of him and the Second Childe Lan standing on the rain, him on a horse while he was holding an umbrella.

The Yiling Patriarch chuckled. "Why do I have a feeling you asked this question to me once?"

"You remember?"

Wei Wuxian shrugged. "Not much. I don't really remember my previous life, but I can tell."

Lan Wangji averted his eyes down slightly. As he was expected, Wei Wuxian wouldn't remember.

"But, I'm sure there's a place for me in this world."

The Second Childe Lan raised his eyes. "Wei Ying, come with me to Gu Su."

Wei Wuxian froze and stared at the man in front of him.

"Huh?"

Lan Wangji repeated his words. "Come with me. To Gu Su."

"And why should I come with you?"

"You said there's a place for you in this world. Gu Su is a place."

"Uh...yes, but..." Wei Wuxian grimaced.

The Second Twin Jade of Lan knew the Yiling Patriarch wouldn't easily agree, he had to think something else. "I'm thinking of taking the position as Chief Cultivator."

Wei Wuxian couldn't help, but immediately cough. "What?"

Lan Wangji only stood there, watching him.

"Lan Zhan, do you realize what you've just said?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

Because I want to protect you.

"Because I made an oath once with you," came out the answer from Lan Wangji, although his heart said different answer.

Wei Wuxian chuckled, folding his arms on his chest. "Lan Zhan, do you have any idea what will happen if you take the position? You've met a lot of people, cultivators, doing trials...while your communication skill is..." he grimaced, "not quite good...and you can't just use your clan's Silencing Charm as you pleased."

"Then, I need your help."

Wei Wuxian's eyes widened, lowering his arms. "Huh?"

Lan Wangji stared at him. "I need your help."

The Yiling Patriarch scratched his head. "I don't think it's a good idea. I'm the infamous Yiling Patriarch. What others think if they see us together?"

"Then, my first duty is to make everyone know you're not guilty."

Wei Wuxian smiled, the smile which unbeknownst to him was making Lan Wangji felt warm. "Lan Zhan, really, you don't have to feel you owe me all the time."

"I already told you too I didn't."

There was a brief silence.

"This is something I have to do."

Wei Wuxian could only laugh lightly. "As Yiling Patriarch, I'm used to be alone and I plan to wander after everything is done. I don't expect you to ask me to come to your home, of all places."

I once wanted to take you to Gu Su.

"Habits can be changed," again, Lan Wangji said differently.

Wei Wuxian grinned. "Hanguang Jun, you're really different comparing to 16 years ago."

The Second Childe Lan glanced at the wound on Wei Wuxian's neck. "You need to heal first."

Wei Wuxian rubbed his neck where the wound from the qin string was placed by Jin Guangyao. "Ah..it's fine." But then, he grimaced.

Lan Wangji nodded, grabbing the man's wrist and took Little Apple's rein. "It's settled, then."

"Hey," Wei Wuxian couldn't say more for Lan Wangji taking him to Gu Su's direction. "I haven't said yes."
