Hey everyone! So here's a new story, i literally just started writing and didn't necessarily have a plan for this story I'm just going to go along with it :) I'm enjoying where it's going so far so hopefully you guys do too!
I haven't proof read it so if anything is wrong just let me know and I'll change it haha.
Enjoy! <3
"So that's two beers, two tequilas, both with lime and salt and a bowl of nachos, no salsa?" I confirm the order with the customers at table 20. They simply nod and I leave them with my ever so fake customer service smile heading over to the bar to add their order into the system before pulling the drinks, and pouring the shots.
"Maddie! Table 20. Thank you sweet" Placing the tray of drinks on the end of the bar, Maddie scurrying over to take the tray to table 20. I ring the food through, letting the kitchen know about the order. This was my life, five days a week, 10 hours a day. I was a bartender, training to be bar manager however I wasn't quite there Sam said I hadn't perfected my customer service voice yet and got too many complaints from customers about my attitude still. I've been working here for five years, it's not going to change and he knows that.
It was a Sunday, so honestly a pretty quiet shift, there were about 10 tables which for a bar like ours is seriously quiet. It was gods day though so what could you expect. I was just doing the normal cleaning jobs, wiping down the bar humming along to myself when I hear a familiar set of voices.
"Kells, hey man! What time do you get off?" Jack asked as he approached the bar with a couple other of our friends, Tony, Oli, Vic & his girlfriend Joey.
"Hey guys!" I look down at my phone. "A couple of hours, why? What's the plan for the night?"
"Well I've just completed the games room in my basement, so a few of us are having drinks and a chill games night at mine. You are of course invited, only if you invite your sister" Oliver said, teasing me about my sister.
To that I roll my eyes, so far into the back of my head. "Oliver you're disgusting, Holland will not be coming anywhere near you, ever! I've made that my brotherly duty to protect her from you, she's not interested anyways, we all know she's out of your league" Vic & Joey laugh, and the others agree with my statement. "Yeah I'll be there though, is it just going to be us? I don't have to try and look nice for anyone do I?"
"It's just us mate. You have no one to impress, we're not inviting any cute guys. You're stuck with us, I'm afraid" Jack says.
"Ahh, what a terrible shame. I'll come straight from work then, I get off at 9, I'll bring some beers" I confirmed with my friends. We said our goodbyes and they left, I watched them walk past the window, of course flagging them off getting a stuck out tongue from Vic.
Those guys were what you could call my best friends, some I was closer to than others, however we all spent pretty much everyday with one another. Them more so than me, as I did have a more demanding job and worked longer hours than any of them. It's hard being the responsible one I know..
Tony & Oli I've known since we were kids, we live on the same street abs practically grew up together. Us three did everything together from the ages of 5-13, our parents hated us spending time together because we just caused so much of a riot when we were together. You know we just did what young boys did, skateboarding, built forts, swimming in questionable lakes, wrestle, video games. All the fun stuff. We went to the same schools, which is where we met Jack & Vic.
When I was 15 I was introduced to Vic, we hit it off pretty much straight away. He started off a little nerdy which we of course bullied him about, in a friendly way, he then over the years became pretty cool. He was really laid back and just positive, the kind of person everyone needed in their life. He was the person we all went to for advice or if we needed a rant, he really put things into perspective and just seemed to have his life together better than the rest of us. Vic wasn't my closest friend, however I've known him for five years now and we without fail will see one another at least twice a week.
