pov: you read morosis and you're warming up to the series

bonjour, je m'apelle enne, and aujourd'hui, we are reviewing chapters 7-8 of morologus (that is all the french knowledge i've retained after how many years of learning it smh)

i'll keep this one shorter since i'm slightly more sane writing this than the last one (but not by much).

ALSO i probably repeat a lot of ideas and stuff i cannot remember what i've already said or haven't said sigh

chapter 7

peter and nia are obviously fighting bc our main heroine decided to jump down into the hole with him, and edmund decides to ask enne whether or not her and nia have gotten into a fight, much to her apprehension and slight irritation.

ed talks a lot about his fights with peter. even as a reader, i thought they got along pretty well since there's no extreme conflict between them yet. i feel like their relationship should be addressed, either with a talk or through another argument, which could contribute to the plot in some way, but idk how lol i'm not creative like that

shadow walkers creep up on the gang - excluding peter and nia - and she's kinda terrifying she's faceless and resembles a cougar no thank you not today son

unless i missed it (oops), i wonder what would happen if a shadow walker got to one of the group members. obviously they'll be hurt, but if they survive, what would the wound be like? would it spread like a disease or is it just normal like "oh hey i'm injured lmao let's wrap it in bandages" sort of thing.

meanwhile, peter is in awe of nia's abilities bc she's queen ofc. has nia ever been impressed by peter yet? no idea. or maybe she is but doesn't show it

okay and then they finally rejoin the rest of the group, still arguing/flirting (don't tell them i said that they're gonna kill me)

chapter 8

nia and enne to go to the canyon by themselves bc they don't want to endanger the group, and peter and nia have a tiny moment there bc he's like bruh let me come and she says nO.

"you're like an infection, you're starting to grow on me" SKAJJD peter is trying his best gotta give props for the effort

this chapter is super wholesome bc the whole group plays tag the whole night (i applaud that bc wtf i can't even play tag for 5 minutes)

peter is like "aslan is right" and of course aslan was right djjsjd jk but i liked that moment it was nice. i think the whole tag thing is a good callback to when nia realized the siblings don't get to mess around as much as they should, so they're able to break them out the idea that they can't have fun anymore.

i like how considerate nia and enne are about leaving behind the rest of the group but it made me kinda sad as if they're never gonna see them again :(

JSJSJF and then the noTES they leave behind are hilarious bc enne ofc tells peter where his bag is, and nia just swears at peter in hers, AND IT'S HILARIOUS BC PETER IS SMILING AS HE OPENS IT dksjndjf i'm imagining his face just dropping completely after he reads it.

anyways, i honestly don't have much to say about these chapters, because they were pretty wholesome and leading up the actual canyon scene, so again, my main takeaways are addressing peter and edmund's relationship, and more info about the severity of the shadow walkers. also are there other creatures too? maybe i'm just forgetful lol head empty no thoughts

overall i like seeing the group as a whole bond and it's cute to see how enne and nia actually make an impact on their behavior and challenge their ways of thinking.
