AS TIME TICKS BY, the silhouettes of gossips filled the room. The roaring eyes of the people around us were pinned on our direction.

It's been two days since my homecoming happened and tonight, I'm going to face another night of veiled lies. Ava and Clark aren't with us too that's why I felt the peak of my nervousness. The music sounded lovely with the dazzling dresses that the Kendelton family wore.

I forced a smile before kissing my Tita Cruzette's cheek—Jake's mom. "Happy birthday, Tita. You're stunning as always."

She sweetly smiled with my compliment before chuckling. "I am flattered, sweetie. Thank you."

Her son caressed my back before greeting his mom too.

Jake was hesitant to reply an exact date even though his mom already suggested a date, which is April 28.

Hilarious, right?

I'm getting married on the exact day of Dark's birthday but I had no defense, even my father agreed with the said date and all I can do is to enjoy my few remaining months a single woman.

My rights were deprived on whom should I marry but I guess that's how life works for me... unfair.

I slightly tapped my nose using my Hermes scarf when I heard the footsteps of Jake's father from the stairway. All eyes were pinned on him this time.

Jake guided him when he was already close.

Whenever I look into their eyes, it always screams power and light.

"Where's my favorite daughter-in-law?" Tito William energetically welcomed.

I don't even see myself saying I do, magka-anak pa kaya?

I nervously chuckled and just didn't answer. On my peripheral vision, I saw Jake's sister glaring at me.

But still, I managed to maintain my fake smile.

"How many kids do you want?" I raised a brow, jokingly challenging him.

His cheek turned red so his Dad tapped his shoulder. "Man up, Son. Why are you the one who's blushing?"
